Default XJ Adventure Pumpkin

Specs:

Half a two door XJ.
Back of an MJ cab.
Custom trailer axle.
Rubicon Wheels.

A few of you probably recall seeing this on Michigan Jeepers years ago. Not much has changed. I have been asked if I would be interested in continuing the project with a few of my advanced students. I agreed as I always thought this would be a fun project for them.

Custom U-bolts.

You can see some of the early stages of the project here. http://xjjeep.com/category/pumpkin/

My hopes with this build thread are to bring the motivation back to working on it. I've had it in the shop for almost a year, and would like to see some serious progress on it.

I am not sure what the owners intended purpose is. It will be finished to match his Jeep. Which just so happens to somewhat look like a little version of Miss XJ. Occasionally we will use it, for trail maintenance, hauling camping gear, etc.

I beleive he intends to use it mostly for camping.

I should mention that they are Automotive Technology students as well, not just random kids. They've completed the program in their Junior year and wanted to continue through their senior year.

Slackers! Dont worry I did the same thing in H/S least amount possible. The worst day in auto is still better than a good day in history! Atleast you guys get to build something cool.

Any camping I do at your house is going to be plenty close to the living room.

Ryan works at the same speed you do, so I think this thing will be done just in time for Mollie's Sweet 16.

Progress on the pumpkin didn't make it long.

A couple customer cars, make-up work days, and final exam prep showed up.

Most importantly we got a couple floor hockey nets from the Phys Ed department. They fell apart, now they won't ever come part.

I haven't seen that thing since MJ. Is it still owned by the same guy? I wanted that damn thing so bad back when I had an XJ.

He must be short if he can sleep in that thing.

Yes. Same owner. He is probably the same height as me. If you don't stretch out in it you can kind of fit.

I think everyone wanted this thing. I know I did, I still do.
