Silver Lake Oct 9,10, 2010

Planning a short trip. Wondering how busy Silver Lake is in October. Is there typically a wait to get in this time of year on a Sunday? I have only been once a couple years ago in the middle of the summer. Best to be there first thing in the morning?

Anyone else be there that weekend?

Thanks for any feedback.

I can't imagine it will be too busy that weekend. I am sure anytime during the weekend you will get right in. I will be up there camping for the weekend and will probably be in the dunes for a while on Saturday the 9th in a white TJ.

Thanks for the reply. That is what I was thinking and hoping but wasn't sure. Not sure if we will get there in time get out on Saturday. If we do we'll be in an orange TJ stock but for some alloy wheels.

you should have no problems getting in, not a lot of people get up there this time of year.. Applefest is the last of the busy weekends, after that everything seems to die way down. you might have the dunes to yourself for the most part lol. I know it seems that during the week they don't even seem to patrol it much. I do know that they close the gates at 7:30pm now though.

Hmm, now I'm getting worried about not having a second vehicle. If we get stuck we could be SOL for a while. Guess we'll just keep the hammer down and bring a shovel.
