Default talk to me about ram gear boxs

I need to do something different with my new build. My current gear box is a 96 f250 box, the pitman faces forward. Now I was working on a late 90's ram 4x4 yesterday and the mounting looked identical but the pitman faces rearward.

Are the ram boxs tough? Can they be ported for hydro assit?

ram boxes are tough but are known to weat out fast, therefore dodges bad rep for sloppy steering. and i do believe they can hydro'd

they can be hydro'd. the boxs are not the weak spot, its the steering stems that the weak spots on almost any ram 1st or 2nd gen.

The factory boxes are known to be weak and all remans are weak and turn to junk quick because remans don't replace the parts that wear. I don't recall the name if the company but there is one company that just started making a new aftermarket unit that is awesome, very well known company I am sure someone knows there name.
