Default Badmunky's 2000 Cherokee build. Project "Bruiser" (Now with pics!)

Project "Bruiser" as we are calling it is under way!

Last November (2012) I bout a 2000 Cherokee Sport with a blown motor.
And then it sat for almost a year while I did research and saved money to make it what I wanted.
Well we have officially started work on it.
So far we have stripped the interior out, pulled the motor/ trans/ and transfer case out. And started prepping it for new front floor pans.

I have purchased a good 4.0 for it.
And a few other parts.

The plan:
Repair the rust on the floors. (Really the only bad rust on it.)
Swap in an AX15.
Install new 4.0.
Weld in frame stiffener kit.
Replace steering box, pump, and lines.
Reassemble the thing. LoL.

And then give a good shake down to see if there is any thing ells wrong with it before we lift it and install new wheels and tires.

Then get a 4.5" long arm lift kit on it.
Some 33x12.5s on some new 16s.
And have it ready to go wheeling before the end of March.

Now as long as we don't run in to any big problems this should be do able.

Right now I am still missing several key parts though.

Among them are:
Clutch/ brake pedal set.
Trans cross member.
Shifter. (Looking for a used Hurst)
AX15 external slave.
Clutch.
Flywheel.
Clutch hydraulic system.
Drive shafts.
Computer from a 2000 manual XJ.
Trans mount.
Front and rear O2 sensors.
Parts for a header back custom exhaust system.
Radiator.
Parts to convert to an electric fan system.
And a bunch more stuff.

But we are getting there.

More to come.

Here we are pulling the old drive train out.

And here it is with every thing out.

My buddy Steve thats helping with the project.

Old drive train.

It made it just short of 230k before a cracked head caused oiling problems and the motor let go.

Head cracked so bad you could see it next to spark plug!

And a shot of me with the old motor.

I have a good used motor from a 99 that will be replacing the dead one.

I have also ordered several parts for it so far and picked out a lot more that will be ordered as soon as I have the cash to do so.

So that's where it is right now.
More to come!

Front floor pans where ordered from www.raybuck.com.

I ordered frame stiffeners from www.ruffstuffspecialties.com.

Both are awaiting install. Just need to get the old pans cut out, and blast the rust off of the floor/ frame so we can start welding this stuff in.

I have also ordered a new cam positioning sensor and a 97-XJ clutch/brake pedal set off of Ebay. As well as a steering box support kit and new upper radiator isolator mounts. (Both of mine broke.)

I am planing to run the steering box from a 2002 S10 V6 4x4, the steering pump and high pressure line from a 2002 WJ with 4.7L and a new power steering cooler I have not picked out yet.

Also looking at Ruffstuffs 1 ton Y link steering kit.

What do you guys think?
