Default Moab, UT

Gonna make my first trip out to moab this coming spring... wondering if anyone has been and can give me any insight? things you wish you did but didnt, things you wish you would have skipped, trails to see, trails to skip, places to eat, beers to try, where did you stay, who has the best trail maps? those are the basic questions i wonder about, but im willing to listen to anything...
also what did you drive and what parts did you wish you had extras of.
just trying to learn a thing or two before i go. its a long ways from home so id like to be prepared and have a pretty decent game plan.

we will be there for 5 days(thursday through monday). We will be in a TJ on tons with Klune v, double beadlocks, stickies, airshocks, full hydro.

We've been out there 5 times. Buy this book! It's well worth the price.

We rented condos, stayed in hotels and small cabins while in Moab. The last trip in June we stayed here:

It was very clean and the cabin AC worked great.

yea that book has been talked about by everyone ive spoke with. not one person said that book didnt help. its on back order. should be getting mine end of the monthish. Barns and Noble and Shuelers books dont even offer it any more because according to the Barns and Noble i stopped in, it was on back order to much. I ordered it from FunTreks website.

as for lodging we were leaning towards the KOA cabins. are most the trails located within a short drive of town? or are they farther away.

Depends what trails you want to run. We like Hell's Revenge, Moab Rim, Steel Bender, Golden Spike, Posion Spider, Fins n Things, Porcupine Rim, Cliff Hanger, Metal Masher, Gold Bar Rim and Seven Mile Rim. All of these are close to town.

We've ran more but keep going back to those. Here's some pics from June:

Some good info here as well.
http://www.moab4x4parts.com/moab_trails.php

I picked up a bandana in town when we were there for I think about $5. It has a map of the trails printed on it with GPS coordinates of the starting points of them.
All the trails we ran out there were well marked and we had no trouble following them once we were on them.

Stayed this past trip in a cabin that had 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, full kitchen, dining room, living room and wrap around deck. Very nice and less than it would have cost us to stay in 3 motel rooms. Out the road that Fins and Things Trail is off of, past the campgrounds.

Keep extra clothes and extra food with you. Late nights can happen (like 3am) and its not like the midwest where you can usually find a two track out to a real road and head home.

Here's pics from my trip last fall to get you excited.

It's not too late Nick.

Back to my question, I was wondering if anyone actually recorded tracks.
