Default Differential Advice

I'm in the middle of doing SOA on my Scout, and I'd like some opinions on what I should do for my rear differential.

I have dana 44's with trac-lok in the rear and spartan locker in the front.

I've been very happy with the spartan so far.
The trac-lok is completely worn out (no resistance).

Should I?
1. add shims to trac-lok clutches
2. rebuild trac-lok
3. replace trac-lok with open diff for future lunchbox locker

Next question: I currently have 3.54 gears. Should I replace my front axle with one with 4.09 gears and regear the rear to 4.09 open diff (I have all the parts) or stay with the 3.54's?

P.S. I'm a poor college kid with little budget

Gears r always good so go to 4.09s. I have LSD in the rear and I hate it I'm either gunna put in an open diff and weld it or get a spool. I'd get an open diff and put a lunchbox in there they are cheap and easy

if its not a DD, you could do mini spool for cheap in the rear and call it a day. You wont be disappointed. If you can afford a gear swap do it but i would do 456 or 488 cuz later you'll want bigger tires and you'll be all set.

No spool or welded in this vehicle.
The reason I said 4.09's is because I have access to the gears.
I'm planning on putting an open diff and lunchbox locker in there when I can afford it.

I'll just steal lousypirate's 14 bolt when he's not looking.
