It isn't what he is building or what he is copying. Its just the fact its a "look" without the guts. The big thing I don't like are those ridiculous wheel adapters that he is running on the street.

Dreezy and Hancho, if this is not your cup of tea may I politely suggest that you never embark upon such a project as you will surely be disappointed with the results. I am sure there are many more "appropriate" threads on this forum where your pearls of wisdom will find a receptive ear.

Thanks for your input so far.

If you don't like opposing opinions I would suggest not posting on any more public forums. Sorry I don't like your dirty rice.

BTW for those who are interested in rally we are running our WRX in the Lake Superior Performance Rally next weekend up in Houghton, MI. Come on up and see the action. I will be in the service area all day.
Interesting series of comments, given that Houghton is an extra 3 hours further from the Detroit area. I guess it's all what floats your boat. $500 to enter is nothing to sneeze at either. Anything more local and less expensive?

Well, this is a big event and I expect to sell quite a few wheels here especially when we announce our contingency program for 2011. Last event was in New York, about the same distance away.

How about Adrian, MI November 6th http://detroit-scca.org/e107/page.php?12

or Atlanta, MI January 29 and 30 http://www.sno-drift.org/

Let me see if I can still get them. I used to work at a Lotus dealership so got a good price. My name's still good there so maybe I can still get dealer pricing. I'd looked around the aftermarket but didn't find anything else this size and the price was right. May not be anymore. They normally reside on the rear bulkhead of an Elise or Exige.

I'm not dead keen on removing the door moldings or painting the bumperettes, sorry.

Not the Jeep Dakar I was expecting to see......

The mock lift looks good. Now it needs 4 lightforce light above the windshield, a big aluminum baja plate under the front end, a wicked awesome roof rack, and a set of 5 new 33" Baja T/A's.

I also see you stole my old bumper light bar.

All planned except slightly smaller tires.

We've been working on the Jeep a little. Changed the tires, added some mud flaps and moved some decals around.

Tires are Firestone Winterforce 235/75-15. Dirt cheap studable winter tires but surprisingly competent. Slightly taller then the 235/70 Bridgestones that were on previously I think they fill out the wheel wells nicely.

Mud flaps are Rally Armor urethane univesal fit mounted with hardware store hardware. Available in black or red from you know who for just $99.95.

Looks good, but still needs a front bumper/skid plate.
