I dunno if I would run a spool in the front of a 44 either... I'm running an easytrac and I keep breaking u joints and shearing the ears off shafts...

I can phase my axles but they ain't stay phased
The 44 hasn't met my expectations, but then I am pretty hard on it, though I don't think "retarded" is the right word.

I also blew balljoints in the sand barely moving, snapped stock shafts crawling on a rock the size of a beach ball at r&v barely pushing the throttle, same thing with the frame twister, I think that was a u joint.
now, I could go to better shafts and super joints but by then I could buy a 60 to build, and I'm still not sure what to do about ball joints.
I do admit I like the skinny pedal, but to break the 44 I don't really gave to use it, with the gears I have I just have to put it in low.
keep in mind my rig is a lot heavier than an xj or wrangler too, so that's not helping me.

I love the km2's it a good all around tire, excellent in the snow and pavement friendly, I haven't found the sweet spot for the dunes yet, but last time I ran about 2 or 3lbs and didn't break a bead, seems like the sidewalks are a bit stiff. I can never blame my tires for being stuck.

Use the spicer 760's they are 30% stronger than the 297's and will fit in place of them.
