Default fuel problem in a 302

i have a 79 mustang and it was parked at a friends house over night last week and when i picked it up i made it a quarter mile away and it quit on me i got it to run at first it looked like my the carb was acting up so i put another one on it long story short someone put something in my tank that ate the seals in the carbs intake gaskets and possibly head gaskets i havent tore it down to a short block yet what would do that kind of damage?

well i tore the motor down to a short block and the damage went all of the way to head gaskets one cylinder was showing smalls signs of coolant in there so im rebuilding the motor witch sucks because it only has 10000 miles on the short block i just dont want to risk fried piston rings only good thats coming out of this is i finally get to through some boost at it

Sugar won't do that. Run any racing fuel or alcohol in the tank?
