If my jeep wasn't down due to transmission issues, i still would not have been there for $300 entry. Corey made his money back and got some prizes, sure he had fun, but I bet he would have liked to have had some competition.

The more spectators the more the park makes AND the more people are talking about the event positivly to promote an even bigger payday for the next one. Look at the Trail master challenge thread, all positive feedback, and lots of web wheelers showed up to pay $100 and run the comp.

And no winch weight and no tree saver should mean winch never gets pulled. No exceptions.

Yep, you guys are correct, a lower fee would have brought out more people to run in our event.
But, the teams that ran didn't seem to have a problem with the $$, the start time, the course, the great prizes they won, or the great time they had.

We'll change some stuff, improve things, and make it better for next time.
Winching will be handled differently next time. Because, safety will not be compromised one bit.

Things we know for sure at this point:

Next years entry fee will be $300. You can start saving now, or make sure you have $5 to get in so you can watch next year.
As we grow, this will drop I'm sure.

Buy an alarm clock too, because the drivers meetings at 8:00am.
Start time will be 9:00am., because we're going to be full.

Thanks.

I hope your right. the way I look at it is the 6-7 teams you had that did not have a problem with the $$ would not have a problem with less $$. especailly with more teams to compete against. Strength is in numbers.

Charging $300? Seriously? I think your marketing department needs to consult with somebody who knows how to run things in the real world.

5 racers @ $300 brings in the same amount of money as 30 racers @ $50 except you get more people at the park.

Sweet, now if I send in my $300 and my "resume" i'll be "considered" for next year...you know, when it fills up, I will make sure I get on the list. I better start getting some references.

What, ALL 6, for a 2 day comp? I'm guessing at least one had some sponsor help.

I'm pretty sure the one's "complaining" are actually trying to HELP make this park and event a success.

ok

seriously you had 6 people

5 one day and 1 yes 1 the second day, that right there should tell you something. I dont know about you but i would consider taking some advice from people.

Trec series $125 entry - 40 racers at the October event.

Trail master challenge- $100 entry 24 races first was 650 ,a set of billet knuckles and a season pass. so 2100.00 worth of cash and prizes.they paid something back all the way to 12th place

club challenge $20 entry- 15 entry's.

yup i definitely think you on to something the high price tag for entry and early drivers meeting is sure working

just a heads up..READ WHAT PEOPLE ARE TELLING YOU!! you will not succeed at an event if you will not listen to the guys that will support you. the dusters have been running events for years and they are still changing things to make every event better!! there races are all top notch and run very smooth now.that is from listening to the guys spending the money on there rigs and being at all the runs..there runs get bigger every time and have better and better payouts.

i would be damn shamed if i put all the work in on a course and told sponsors about how awesome the event was, then only had 1 person for sunday.how can mickey thompsan justify giving you another 500 dollar gift certificate for the next one?
we are only trying to help because we all want to run these but you need to look at it from a drivers point.
300 to enter
200 in fuel
180 for lodging
60 for food
700 to maybe get your 300 back? that is not including parts for the rig....

Yea that was the drawing on saturday corey.

I think you guys did a great job with putting on the event, only things were not covering enough in the drivers meeting but thats excepted with being first event. Guys really need to listen to what every ones saying if you want to make it big. Ive been to/in pretty much every rock crawl comp in michigan this year and seen first hand how many people a well run event can bring and how much it can get there name out there. Pretty much every time after awards they've thanked every one for coming and asked for every ones opinion on there likes and dislikes of how it was run, which inturn led to them having large succesfull events.

Ill def be at your guys future events but pretty good chance i wont be able to swing a $300 entry not after putting all other expences to be there into account

5 racers @ $300 brings in the same amount of money as 30 racers @ $50 except you get more competitors at the park.

Which means more spectators to watch the more competitors, and more friends will show to watch there friends. Which also means more spectator profits, more merchandise sold, more people in general in the park who might come back any other weekend to play themselves.

Bundy Hill.....you need to take all this with a grain of salt. The MAJORITY of those posting in the last 2-3 days are some of the most common and most competitive competitors in the state. We ALL just want to make it more fun, more competitive, and yes more affordable.

You seem to speak as a representative of the park......your attitude and take on the suggestions and comments given is unfortunate.

I considered entering the event, even had the weekend off from work (rare). But the $300 turned me away. I have competed in two "events" already this year and for the most part have traveled once if not twice a month to wheeling destinations including the badlands, Drummond, Rocks and valleys, numerous private property outings, and YES even Bundy hill multiple times. Each destination typically a 300+ mile round trip. But I guess all that traveling/wheeling must make me a web wheeler . I'll crawl back in my hole.

Now where is that link to the Jeep Skool thread?

The owners of Bundy Hill really didn't have much to do with the comp. It was Jeepfrk and Swampdog02 which are both good guys that put the event on. Don't bash Bundy Hill to much its still a good place to come and wheel. They will both listen to all the insight and make it a better comp for next year

The Charge was in hopes for big payout . Comps are becoming popular and they were looking for a big entry, This is a event to plan for. Next year it should be better with the first one done and more time to plan, I will be in the next one. It came to life to soon round other comps. There are plenty of great aspects of this event and like the events at other parks they will adjust to productive comments and helpful advice . IMO
