There is no "different kind of license". I'll try to keep it simple but your question requires some reading and understanding of gun laws. A CPL (concealed pistol license) allows a person to conceal a weapon and carry it in "most" places. There are certain places, like schools and churches where this is not allowed. These same places do not allow a person to open carry either.

HOWEVER, in certain places, WHEN a person possess a CPL, and concealed carry is not legal, he CAN open carry.

That's it in a nutshell. Some people consider this a controversial loophole. Others do not. I won't submit an opinion, I think it's up to the individual to assess the risks.

Gotcha. lil_freak_66 had said something about a different type of liquor license for AB&E. I had never heard of different liquor licenses at a venue making a difference to CPL holders; I thought it was about sales revenue compared to food or other product.

Thats exactly what it is. And since the only other thing they are making money on is the parking, its a sure thing that they'll be over 51% that makes it illegal to carry there.

at least concealed would be illegal...remember that its not 51% or more by alcohol, its majority of alcohol,a majority could be 30% or less even,as long as its still the primary source of income

OC w/ cpl allows OC everywhere that CC is not allowed with the exception of courts, fed buildings and casinos...still cant carry there.

by different type of permit i meant the area in which alcohol could be served, the whole area compared to a beer tent.

As of current, the permit has not been approved at all yet,AB&E might not have alcohol this year....

To ban such a thing there would have to be a significant risk to the public for it to be seriously considered, and lets face it,statistics prove that both conceal carry and open carry deter violent crime.

They would have to rewrite the U.S. constitution and the MI constitution to ban carry, with the Heller and McDonald rulings, they wouldnt be able to...and even IF they did, everyone is so fed up with being treaded on that there would be a very significant risk of a militia insurrection, effectively starting the 2nd U.S. civil war.
