I don't think anyone missed it, but what do you want this thread to turn in a sympathy for Jeff thread. Instead it's right on track with people telling Tom he has to deal with his no liscense as he is the idiot who got 2 dui and brought it all on himself. Like Deke said you aren't the only one this has happend to.

No that's not my intention.

I posted that second comment to try to bring more attention to it especially for Gunsworth. He could be in jail for killing someone, but instead he's bitching about not getting his license for being a complete moron. It could always be worse.

Thank you, everyone always wants to pretend to be an angel, but every mj (Sorry for mentioning those letters, but just about every post on this is a previous member) party Ive been to resulted in a lot of people driving when only 1 or 2 sty sober.

On my behalf I dont agree with drinkin and driving either, however my first one was because of zero tolerance (only blew a .06 which is like 2 beers) the second one was a .1 and I only drove after my friend became waaay to wasted to drive. I hadnt hada drink in like 3 hours (it had dropped to a .09 by time we got to the station so I woulda been fine had I waited another 1/2 hour or so) and mytolerance is high enough that im sure I was still driving better than most of the idiots I see on the road each day.

So I f'ed up and went through a lot of shit this year, including starting a drinking and driving awareness program at my school. Its not like im some hillbilly driving around after a case of beer each night.

SO anyone with a dui doesnt deserve sympathy or anything else for the rest of his life? Im sorry some of you have had tragedies caused by drunk drivers , but seriously get real.

That night I had 2-3 beers in a period of 4-5 hours. I weigh rougly 260-270 lbs. I highly doubt I was anything close to a .08 BAC.

http://www.ou.edu/oupd/bac.htm

According to this, I would've been at a .01% drinking 5 beers in 4 hours with my weight. 5 beers in 1 hour I would be at a .06% according to this.

I know my limits and if I've drank too much or feel buzzed at all, I won't drive. When I left that party, I did not feel buzzed one bit and stopped drinking 1-2 hours prior to leaving.

Yea, different circumstance. I know I needed a ride home that night, and Bosch gave me one.

Those charts are not accurate...they are an estimate. I have a PBT, I know. Two weeks ago my wife had a few drinks...the charts estimated a .07 when she blew a 1.9

I was not trying to point fingers, just saying people often drink and drive. The difference is getting caught. All the people jumping in on this "burning at the stake" should look at themselves. Have they ever driven after drinking? When my wife blew the .19 (at home on our PBT machine) her response was she felt fine and probably would have driven. And she NEVER drives drunk.

My point is a lot of people drive drunk, they just do not realize how drunk they were (BAC level).

Another friend stopped by two Fridays ago. He had been drinking but was not "drunk". He blew a .20

You're right, the charts aren't 100% accurate. There is a big difference in driving with a .08 BAC compared to driving with a .2 BAC. Kind of like pissing in public. Outside at a campground is better than a mall parking lot, but you can get in trouble for both.

In the eyes of the law it is the same thing

.08 is the law. Anything over is "Drunk" regardless of effect.

5 beers in one hour would have put you over the limit, period. I'd bet money on it. I teach MSF, so get asked a lot about drinking and riding, same thing. Alcohol leaves your blood system one drink per hour. So you would have a high level within the first two hours.

Either way, drinking and driving is a bad combo, any amount can end up being too much. Most drunk drivers state they felt they could drive home. Just a thought.

Amen. There are 60,000 DUI arrests in Michigan every year. Most everyone here has driven drunk. Many still do. I'm willing to bet half of the people who chimed in with their "I don't feel sorry for you" remarks either have, or will get a DUI in their lifetime.

Gunsworth, haven't you learned not mention your DUIs online? You're just giving the "holier than thou" crown more for their cause.

I hear you on the messing with the drunks when you drive them!

My self, when I first moved to MI, my wife (girlfriend at the time) and her friend were wasted, so I drove home from a party downriver to Warren area of Detroit. When we got in the car, my wife's friend said go up Dequindre to 9 1/2 Mile Rd and turn left! Where I come from, we called the roads by their name, not some silly numbers!.

Gunsworth, you have obviously learned a lot from this, but you did get off easy. Good luck with your future.

SolGoode, you have a BAC machine at your house?? Cool party game eh?? If i had that, my better half would make me use it to see if I slept on the couch or the bed!

I lost my license for a couple years due to 2 dui s. I am fine with penalties being harsh, hell, I want harsher drunk driving laws. What I DON'T like, is that there is no set 'sentence'. You can jump through all the hoops etc, and the reviewer can just say no, there are zero guidelines. That is crap.

Well I posted in here with no pitty so I guess I have to defend that position. I know I can say for sure that I have never drank and got behind the wheel of anything more than a pedal bike (college days). Say what you want, but it's the truth.

Well no, but don't bitch when they won't let you drive.
