T max winch installation

I just installed a 6500 tmax winch that i got for free from a friend. Was wondering if anyone knew exactly wat size screw i need to buy to attach the rope to the winch. also i hooked it to the battery and when i use the remote all i hear is a clicking but the winch doesnt actually move. If anyone could help with either of these questions that would be great.
