Default Holy crap. There goes my night.

I was talking to my first "official" girlfriend (from sixth grade or something), and she asked if I heard the news about one of my old friends...that kind of question is never good.

Jason and I met in South River Elementary School in Harrison Twp., MI. In second-fourth grade we hung out, drew comics, and did school projects together (like a baking soda and vinegar volcanoe). After 4th grade we kind of drifted, and he went to track and me to band, but we still chatted every once in a while especially when we had classes together.

Apparently, on December 1st, Jason shot himself.

Here's the obituary: http://www.macombdaily.com/stories/1...51203003.shtml

I'm not posting this because I want sympathy from people, but I want people to really think about their lives. I can't imagine a situation that is so bad that would drive me to suicide. We all have it so good (obviously, I'm not in your shoes, but I feel like I can safely assume that you have a computer and you are in a house and that's pretty damn good); I just can't understand why a person would do this.

I'll stop because I could ramble on forever, but please pray for his family, and don't ever put your family and friends through this; it can't be that bad.

This is what I don't get. He had a job and plenty of friends. He had tons of hobbies, and he was involved in his church. Auggie and I discussed this...it always seems to come out of the blue. I will never EVER understand it.

i know the feeling, one of my old friends decided to end his life with a shot gun earlier in the year, it doesnt suck for them as much as it does for their loved ones, they always get the shaft on that deal.

i feel for ya, i know a few people that commited suicide though i was not ever super close to me or should i say as close as you once were with your friend they were definately more than aquaintances; friends of friends, my dads best friends nephew we camped and fished allot together, and some guys that OD after highschool. Its never easy. And none of them was i ever best friends with. Its very sureal when it happend though, like that is something that only happens on the news, or in books and movies, not in real life to real people. It will mess you up even if your well adjusted

As a thought though, he probably had a chemical imbalance, so dont hold a grudge against him for being selfish or immature he was probably miserable and needed help. So very very sad.

Everytime i'm in contact with this kind of a situation it shocks me. The human life is such a fragile and miraculous thing that it's a waste when it gets ended early.

My cousin (14 years old) took her own life a year and a half ago, was on meds for depression, but the night before was all happy, having family movie night, was going to the mall the next day for a b-day shopping spree. My uncle found her the next morning hanging in her closet.
It's a shame, makes you step back and not take anything or anybody for granted.

Sorry to hear that, had a really good friend do the same earlier this year - whats sad is it's like they don't even think about the stuff that they're going to miss out on, and obviously don't think about the effects it has on everyone else
