3.7L V6 and CRD KJ are both rated at 5000 lbs. Engine option does not change towing capacity on them because they're both still uni-body. 5000 lbs. still stomps everything else in their class though.

BTW, if you swerve in anything while pulling a trailer, it doesn't matter what you're driving, you're probably fucked.

Ok... That why i can pull our 18' with my dads crew cab, swerve sharply around a tire in the highway and be fine.. a little sway buts its easy to get back.. WB plays a VERY important roll when towing..

acutaly, if its the same frame/body it should be less becasue of the weight of the deisle over the v6. becasue the GVW has changed which will affect the GVWR of the vehicle... and its towing ablitlys.... or.. proper ablitlys

I mean swerve like jerking the wheel type of swerve. The sort of thing women do when they see a 5 lb bunny in the middle of the road.

You and i should go for a ride with our my towin set up.. this jerking you just explained is exactly what i was refering to..
Friends dad has a 3500 chevy van and 26" enclosed trailer.. WDH and sway controler he can jerk it like u explained and it comes right back to him.. even without the WDH or sway control.

I never want to hear about you and your friend "jerking it" ever again.

Just dug this up.. That's my liberty.. Has Airbags.. Sway Control on Tounge.. Gets 18mpg towing that rig.. Trailer with Jeep on it is 4980lbs.. Trailer has 4 wheel brakes.. Tows just fine.. In this photo the airbags wern't installed though.. It really does make a differance.. I love how people say you can't tow a 16' trailer with a liberty but you can tow a 35' trailer with a duramax.. Anyway ..

Americans have a fear of towing anything other than a log splitter with a vehicle that isn't a 3/4 ton pickup

When it comes to tow rigs, weight is your buddie. I've done the white knuckle thing many times with my pick up. I tow 15,000 pounds behind my 13,000 pound farm truck and I hardly know it's there. If I tow 8000 pounds with a 5500 pound pick up, that trailer better be balanced just right and no sudden movements.

so now you can claim that you were kidding, or the LEO used bathroom scales or some other clever story so it doesn't look like your wrong.
