I would think that it's a CRD and not a regular gasser engine. The shadow of the rad fan in the picture looks huge. My CRD has two fans. Great little Jeep but they will blow EGR Valves left and right.

Gman They will run on gasoline. just not to long. When I was in the Air Force we always had idiots doing the opposite. Put diesel in a gas motor vehicle. This was in the early to mid 80's and most trucks were still carb. then. BTM.

Aren't the diesel libby's rated to tow about 6500 pounds? If so, it is theoretically possible that the YJ and trailer could be under that limit. I doubt it, but it is possible.

Could be, since its one of those light weight YJ's with round headlights.

I bet that Liberty could handle it, gas or diesel. Could struggle a little, but I am sure it managed fine.

Doh. I just barely glanced at the photo. Maybe they added after-market headlights to a YJ. :tonka:

they are rated to tow 5000 or 5500....which is about the same as the V6 libby.

I don't give a rats ass about his drive train failing... it's the fishtailing, braking, and killing that I would worry about *lol*

Just got back from Camp Jeep. Flat towed the TJ there and back with no problems with my wife's V-6 KJ. Ran 60-65 without any trouble. Braking was not as big a problem as I thought.

It doesn't matter how well it takes off. Should you have to swerve on the highway, or if the trailer starts to get squirrelly, that libby does not have the wheelbase or the weight to handle it. That's the dumbest thing I've seen today, and I've seen some pretty dumb stuff today.
