With the rubber bushings, it would still flex better than solid aftermarket arms with urethane bushings.

We'd like to thank Aaron Smuda (Porscheguy) for another sponsorship. Aaron donated some adjustable lower control arms (one just needs a new bushing), and also some TJ lift springs that we should be able to use for one of our projects.

Thanks so much for your generosity, Aaron! We owe you bigtime.

I'd also like to thank Frank (COYOTE) from RockSolid Performance for his help in transporting these parts up to Cedar Springs for us.

2-3" most likely.

I also have a message into TeraFlex. I was mistaken - the control arms are not adjustable, but fixed. I greased them up well, as they were kind of frozen in place (they pivot in the middle). I got them working decently well, then held them up to a stock TJ/XJ lower control arm. The TeraFlex ones are a full inch shorter, which led to me scratching my head (they were pulled off the rear of a TJ). I already ordered new bushings for them late Friday night, so I want to talk with TeraFlex before those new bushings ship.

No worries, Aaron - we still greatly appreciate you donating them. It's just weird, as I assumed they'd be at least as long as stock (or slightly longer to account for a lift). I'll see what TeraFlex says, and go from there. These measure 14 3/4" C-C, while stock control arms are 15 3/4".

That may be an option. I have already talked to RockSolid Performance about options, and retubing them with a longer, fixed piece of tube may be the route to go. More to come...

I mentioned that Aaron Smuda (Porscheguy) was nice enough to donate some used TeraFlex control arms for Mira's project...very cool. Well, they had not been greased regularly by a previous owner, and had some slop after we eventually freed them up (they were frozen in position from crud/corrosion). They WERE adjustable arms after all.

I contacted TeraFlex about replacement bushings, and planned to just weld the used TeraFlex arms into position, and run them as "fixed arms". Well, after a few e-mail exchanges about Mira's Cherokee project, TeraFlex offered to send us a brand new set, providing we destroyed the used ones we have. So, we're very thankful for a TeraFlex sponsorship that helps her project. Thanks Sterling at TeraFlex Suspensions!

The sad news this Christmas morning...Mira & her sister left at 9:00 a.m. to spend a week with their mother. The upside is that I took advantage of my quiet morning and finished up Mira's Dana 44 rear axle (minus calipers, which still need to be painted). I'm quite happy with the end result.

The LCAs were very cold, as we had just gotten the package off the porch. Mira probably figured it was best to give her best smile as quickly as possible so she could put them down quickly. Of course, she did put her icy-cold hands on me right afterward just to say "thanks". She was definitely happy, but I'm also sure it'll have more relevance when we install them along with her Dana 30.
