Default How are the trails near Atlanta, MI?

I'm heading up to Michigan to do some camping with the family and I will be staying just north of Atlanta , MI in Montmorency County.
I see there are several ORV trails up there for bikes, quads and full size vehicles.
How difficult are the trails?
Any I should avoid... boring?

There is a good chance I'll be bringing the mountain bikes as well and do some riding with my son while I'm there. Any good trails for an 11 year old?

Thank you for any help with this.

All trails are easy in a truck but go to the dnr and get a map of trails and now how to read what the trial marker signs are and what they mean as you can get on trails that look like you can go on them but are quad or snowmobile or walking trails only and get a fine.. So only trust your friendly DNR map ...

Thank you for the help.
I will be buying an ORV sticker along with a fishing license at the DNR office and the map is a good thing to pick up. I'm not a fan of getting fined and neither is SWMBO (she who must be obeyed)

You do not need an ORV sticker for any trails in michigan, unless you're in the mounds, silver lake, the scramble area at st helan, or bull gap.

Don't waste your money giving it to our horribly managed state. That money will just fund some stupid endangered butterfly to research that will end up closing 20 more miles of trails that are near its habitat.

I have never used the MX or ATV trails in the Atlanta area, but the ORV Routes in the area will take you through some scenic woods, a couple of nice lakes to drown a few worms, and the opportunity to see some elk. Unfortunately a handful of clearcuts now dot the landscape too. There are a couple of sandy spots that can be interesting in 2wd with 40psi in your tires, but this is not a go-to destination for 4wd recreation. There are some nice areas to set up camp on or close by some of the trails if you are looking to avoid campgrounds too.
