7.5 cracked exhaust manifolds

my buddys truck has a pretty bad crack in the exhaust manifold, bad enough to melt the spark plug wire on #5 i believe. my question is if i were to fill it w some nickle w/o removing from the engine will i cause any damage? if i were to try this fix, i will be heating manifold then tig welding w/ prob 55/45 rod.

the 460 is known for cracked manifolds...best bet is to replace them...if you try to fix it, it will break again

o i know it. i would personally replace, but its my buddys truck. It needs rings badly, and there are plans of rebuild this winter but he needs it this summer to pull his boat. figured we could cheat for now then replace when the engines out.
