So I've gone back and edited these posts, to reflect my current situation, the big k5 is gone, had to sell the frame and axles to pay some bills a while back, I do have another stock k5 now.

And here's where I'm at with the jimmy:

The jimmy is gutted on the inside now, just need to unbolt the body from the frame, and figure out how to get it lifted onto the blazer frame and sized up.

Yea, that's what made me start the whole thing, it was way to far gone for me to want to fix.

Not yet, trying to find a place to get the jimmy off it's frame and onto the k5 frame.

Well after tons of debt and other annoying shit, anyone know a good way to get this body off the frame? All I gotta do is unbolt the body from the frame and it's ready to come off. Will be rolling a stock k5 frame under it for now... Just need to get it up in the air, I've got no hoist, or trees, that will hold it.

Why don't you swap the drive train into the jimmy?

Which one's easier, trying to get the front end lined up with a axle swap or just settin it on a full size frame and sliding the rear leafs forward to shorten it.

is the jimmy factory 4wheel drive? if so i would just swap the drive train and perform a sas there are plenty of treads on pirate and s10forum just sit down and start reading. the only reason i tell u to swap the drive train is because i think it would suck to fab body mounts make sure it on the frame square plus to make the body fit the frame would behard with the rear arch of the blazer chassis. i vote drive train swap and be done with it. just my .02

I was just thinking since you don't have a way to lift the whole jimmy body it would be easier to swap over all the drive train parts, you have everything you would need from the K5.

Find someone with a car hoist you can borrow for an hour or so to swap the bodies.

i vote do a sas on the jimmy getting that body to fit on the k5 frame would suck and a sas isnt as hard as you may think. im currently doing a sas on a 99 jimmy and its going really well. just do a lot of reading and looking at pics of other people doing them and take there ideas. also the frame on the jimmy is going to be alot stronger then the k5 frame. either way good luck with the build

Ok my g/f's brother helped me out yesterday and cut off all the body bolts from the blazer. Got 3 bolts left on the jimmy, but outta oxygen, so probably today. As far as that k5 body goes, it's not in real good shape anyway, maybe the front fenders and hood are saveable, but the inner fenders are junk, as most the rest of the body. Doors are power and gate was power. Gate is rotted, doors aren't that great. Hope to have the k5 loaded on the trailer and on the way to the scrapyard by sat. and let them pull the body right off for me
