Default lifted jeep XJ $850 *SOLD*

1992 jeep cherokee, runs and drives good, 4x4 works, body is decent for its age.

- 4.0L
- auto
- NP242
- dana 30 front with ABS axle shafts
- 8.25" rear end
- 3.55 gears
- 4.5" rough country lift
- flowmaster
- body looks better than most
- the previous owner daily drove this approximatly 40 miles each way to work.

problems...
- only the drivers front door opens from the outside the rest do work from the inside and just need slight adjustment.
- factory temp gauge doesent work (has aftermarket gauge pod installed)
- drivers seat does not match the rest of the interior (and does not work).
- front bumper is crunched (i was told from a deer)
- interior is dirty, i cleaned it up enough to get in it without getting dirty but it still needs a good cleaning.
- it has a push button start... i dont know exactly why but it works great.
- has hood pins... also i dont know why it was done but they work well.
- fenders have been cut aggressivly to fit up to 35" tires
- transfercase shift linkage is a little sloppy. (hard to get to 4 low sometimes but not impossible)
- burns a little oil and has low oil pressure at warm idle. its been like this since i got it and still runs great with no funny noises
- rear brakes make some noise. still stops good but should be checked out if you plan to DD it
- body has been patched in some areas (rockers) but still looks good and is very solid for the price

UPDATE(11 July 2010): i took this to silverlake over fourth of july weekend. it did extremely well with and easily climbed every hill in 2wd. i only had to back up a few times. through driving it for the weekend i learned a little more about it. it burns some oil mainly on cold start up. also at hot idle it only has around 10 pounds of oil pressure. the oil pressure still jumps right up when you hit the gas. when i confronted the previous owner he told me that it had been that way since he got it and it has never got any worse and he still drove it everyday just the way it is. the motor still runs perfect and has no abnormal noises so i dont see anyreason to worry about it in the near future but i just wanted everyone to know its current condition. i also found out the rear struts to hold up the rear gate are wore out so there is a prop in the rear cargo area to hold it open while you get what you need. finally in the process of the weekend of bouncing around at the dunes i lost the little trim piece that goes around the headlight on the drivers side.

i will sell the jeep for $850 firm you bring your own rims and tires

OR

i will sell for $900 firm on stock jeep 5 spoke aluminum rims and mostly bald 33x12.5x15" tires

OR

$1500 firm with 15x10 mod style rims and 33x14.5x15 SuperSwamper SSR's (1@ 95%, 1@ 80%, 1@ 70%, 1@ 50%) the one at 70% has a patch but still runs great down the road.

i am also open to trades for a sport ATV, VW sand rail/baja bug, 1988 or newer extended cab short box chevy/gmc, trailer to haul my YJ on, 40-44" tires on 8 lug rims, chevy dana 60 front/14 bolt rear, 35-37" for 16.5 rims (must be radials in near new condition), 35-37" tires on nice 6 lug chevy rims(rims must be 16" or bigger), or who knows what else, make offers

whats wrong with the front axle?
why is the exhaust coming out on the left side?
how bad do the tires rub the frame?

the pinion bearings are gone out of it... i dont know how to reset gears so instead i decided to go buy a whole new/used axle that will just bolt in. that should be done within a week

the exhaust comes out of both sides, it has a muffler that splits it to duals. that picture is just meant to show the lift that was done to it.

the tires rub slightly on the fenders still and the fronts rub on the sway bars at full lock. i dont see anywhere that they rub on the frame though...

bump front axle should be in it by the end of the night

i am also not reccomending this as anyone daily driven main mode of transportation (i am not saying that it is not capable of it im just saying thats not how i would use it). this would be a great second car, weekend toy, or just a offroad toy that is also reliable enough to get you back and forth from the hotel/ campground to the trails.

this was a picture of it at silverlake 4th of july. it still runs great and drives stright and smooth down the road but i do not want to mislead anyone and would like enveryone to keep in mind that this has been used OFF ROAD many occasions and is not ever going to be a show jeep
