Default 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 T-case

I have a 19997 Dodge ram with a NP 231D Transfer case in it, I was just looking and found a NP 231 transfer case, but I do know if it will work cause it is the NP 231 not the NP 231D. Does it matter? Also what does the D mean? Thanks

Slick~

The "D" means Dodge. It matters.

The transfer case that I have for sale is a 231D. It came out of a dodge dakota.
