My buddy was the one in the Isuzu that he picked up for free to beat the crap out of at the dunes over the weekend... That blue sand rail was screwing the take off up, that why everyone was leaning to the right and why the ranger flipped. Just did wheelies and tore the shit out of the hill... Is that XJ still running? He takes the cake as to the farthest jump IMO...

x2 on the Grand Cherokee for the farthest jumpWOW!!!!

In regards to the ISUZU, not bad for FREE!!!! He was hitting the jump with pretty good speed and seemed to be landing pretty flat almost every time.

Yeah, amazingly the thing still runs.. blew the upper radiator hose off sat, cut it to slip it on again only to blow it in half the next time around on sun evening. It lasted the whole weekend which was more than I had expected....

If you watch the video he come to a fast stop when it lands. I think it flipped like that because his front axel broke and dug in.

that looked like a pretty cool ranger. i love watching people destroy stuff up there.
i had an explorer try to follow me over this jump a few years ago-
the outcome was a 18" deep crater and 4 idiots looking at the frame rails that were punched through the floor boards of their exploder. 10 min after that i about landed on some idiot on an atv riding a wheelie up the back side of the hill i was jumping in the one way section. now i don't even get the bike out of the truck on busy weekends anymore. i just enjoy the scenery and watch people break their junk.

here is a link to Dunetv.com.........looking at the landing of where everyone was jumping, there are a couple quad wipe outs before the ranger endoes.....if you look at the truck landing, looks almost as if his tierod broke or got bent on the launch...or maybe it is a goofy video angle

This wasn't Memorial Weekend, it was June 12, but this seems like as good a place as any to post it....

Me doing a baby jump in my new tow rig:

My best friend getting a little more than he bargained for after taking a different line due to a rent-a-buggy getting stuck right in our normal path:

Those are 40" tires under an 8' tall truck....the front tires a good 7' off the ground!

The magazine-worthy shot

The aftermath:

Both axletubes bent and the driverside tube is tearing out of the diff casting. I'm pretty pumped that all the suspension and bracketry I built took it like a champ though! Next up is a kingpin 60 with a truss from hell and some coilovers. The old truss could only be run to the inside of the huge coil buckets and it bent outside of that.
Good times!!

x2. He jumped it at least 5 or 6 times, each time he was getting braver (more confident) and getting more air.
