Default *SOLD!* 01 XJ, 4.0, Auto *Pics!* *New Price*

I have a 4-door Patriot Blue XJ for sale currently sitting at 135k miles. The Automatic Transmission was flushed out last Summer, and the engine currently has Valvoline MaxLife Synthetic oil (The Full synthetic - not the synthetic blend!) The power locks, power windows and power mirrors all function wonderfully. The Inline-6 that is put in this truck is absolutely wonderful for towing, or just simple around-town driving. The interior is in clean condition, having been owned by non-smokers, as long as we know. The four wheel drive works very well and is a dream in the winter. The tires are relatively new and help provide for a pleasurable ride. For those of you looking for a potential off road vehicle, this truck is also equipped with the Up Country package, which includes a 1" lift, an array of skid plates to protect the under body. For those interested in the power of this torquey motor, It does come equipped with a towing package including a Class III receiver rated for 5000 lbs.

This is a wonderful truck that has served us very well, however we've found that we just don't have a need for it right now as there's just the two of us and we have too many cars. PM is the best way to contact me, and I will provide as prompt a response as possible.

$4300obo

New Price!
$3700obo

For the gas cap. Reads off as an 'Evaporate Emissions Leak' or somesuch. Been like that since about 6 months after I got it. I do occasionally have Autozone run the codes and clear the light, but other than the bad coil that got replaced, have never seen another code other than the gas cap.

Does have a locking cap on it too, don't know if that could have anything to do with it.

It is listed as o.b.o. If you think it's too high, make me an offer.

What makes you say it's 'rough'?

I have the kickpanel (though I admit, I believe I misplaced the screws). I took it out so I could get to the firewall to run a wire in for the foglights that are no longer on it, and just never put it back.

I'll be cleaning the interior before I sell it.

Grille is missing. You can get a brand new one from Mopar for ~$50, cheaper elsewhere. I may make a trip to the junkyard and grab one before I sell it.

It's missing one flare, and I still have it. Clips are probably broken on it, but I never bothered to check. You can ebay a full set of 4 for less than $100 bucks.

CEL is for the gas cap, as previously stated. It's a common thing on Chryslers. I'll gladly meet you at an autozone so you can see them pull the code.

As far as your offer, no thank you, I think I'll pass.

just saying, it doesnt look presentable..

heres my issue, if all of these things are SO cheap to repair/replace/fix..why not do them? and get top dollar for the truck? just makes myself, and other buyers wonder, what CANT be seen..

just because its an evap leak, doesnt always mean its just a fuel cap.

take care of the issues mentioned, meet me halfway, and ill give you 3500 cash.

also your ad doesnt mention it, but...does the a/c function properly, and heat blow hot?

Haven't fixed them, because they don't bother me. As stated, I have the kickpanel, I have the flare (though again, I haven't checked the clips on it), and I intend to clean it out before I sell it. Heat is hot, A/C functions, but needs to be charged. Compressor was replaced a few years ago, and the shop did not recharge the system afterwords. I never us A/C anyway, so it never bothered me.

CEL is the gas cap. Light went out when I got the new locking cap, came back a while later. Also most common cause of that Evap code.

not to intrude, but i believe not. there have been multiple threads on seller/ buyer conduct to speed the process of selling w/e, and making the for sale item presentable is one of the things that came up. .

finally, someone sees the light!

nobody wants to buy some dirty clapped out looking jeep, with panels missing, grille missing, body peices off it...check engine light on..

and then claim its 50 bucks to fix...LMAO.

i was seriously interested in this jeep, woulda met halfway if he had made it presentable...but i guess its not worth his time, or my money.

go look at my for sale ads here, vehicle presentable, detailed description... etc etc. i sell a car that way, and i expect to BUY a car that way.

I'm not arguing about it's presentation.

Obviously more could have been done before pics were taken.

My point is/was the parts are cheap and it's an easy fix, that's all.

93liftedzj is totally shitting on this guy for minor stuff. Send him a PM if you're serious and get him on the phone. Otherwise STFU

Yeah... but small things like that go a long way when selling a used car. 80%+ of people that see things like that, will just look right over and not even consider the vehicle because they can go find one that doesn't have the cosmetic eyesores like the pics he has posted.

That's understandable.. but when potential buyers look at a car that they're going to spend more than $1000 on, it WILL bother them.

He does have a point, however, to us "Jeepers", we see it as no big deal.

Good luck with the sale, I'd like to have it.

MINOR STUFF?! are you seriously on drugs?

he is asking...let me put this into perspective for you....

four thousand three hundred dollars!, which...even in decent shape, is a hair too much..

But, 4300 from this guy, gets you a jeep with a check engine light{that likely ISNT the gas cap}, a jeep with a missing grill, a jeep with a nasty muddy interior, a jeep with missing body peices...questionable working functions that i asked about, and got no reply on..

This is an internet forum, where EVERYONE deserves the right to understand whats up with a vehicle, why in the hell should i PM him for this information?

Some of you people are seriously on DRUGS when it comes to purchasing a used vehicle, i could understand all of these issues, if this was a WHEELER..but its not, its a DD jeep..i dunno about you guys, but i dont like driving around in vehicles that look like they were just driven out of the scrap yard.

i WAS a seriously interested buyer, not anymore, buyers attitude destroyed any and all chances of me buying this thing, hell i offered him 3500 CASH if he jsut fixed a few things before hand...aparently its not worth his time.

What did you ask that I didn't answer? Where have I been anything but courteous? Are you not the one coming into my for sale thread demanding things, and generally making an ass of yourself?

I haven't responded to your offer of $3500, because I got a better offer from my Craigslist add (hence the sale pending that was added to the title a day or so ago). If I hadn't had a better offer, I probably would have looked into picking up a grill and a fender flare. I also stated that I would be cleaning the interior before I sold it. I'm not an idiot, and don't intend to give someone a vehicle with a dirty interior.

As for the CEL that you seem to be so hung up on, not only did I explain what it was for (twice I believe), I even offered to meet you at an Autozone so you could see the code pulled yourself.

If you're going to throw rocks, don't stand in a glass house. I've answered every question you've asked, and I've been civil and courteous about it. There is no need for you to come into my thread and start bashing me, and blaming my attitude on your lack of manners.
