I didn't make a mistake.
Yes, the 403 (L80) was an Olds. The shaker decal denoted which motor was in the car. "T/A 6.6" was the Pontiac 400. "6.6 Litre" was the Olds 403. Yes, 76 was the last year for the L75 455. It was originally slated to be axed at the end of 1974. It should be noted that the hp #'s that Deathdealer made fun of were the new Net ratings (not Gross) and all of the motors were producing 300-325 ft/lbs at only 7.6-8.1:1 compression ratios.

This crap again?

Well, my answer will be the same as every other time this comes up. When CC has his name on the cruise, then he can make the rules.

I will probably not be on Woodward on Saturday, except maybe early in the day to get to a relatives house. I will drive which ever one of my vehicles I please. (with the exception of the RV.....too much damn gas)

As Swampjeep pointed out above, vehicles of interest and lets not forget the one of a kinds.

When I am on Woodward I am in the inner lanes except to turn off.

I have cruised in classics. Hell, I have cruised Woodward in the classics when they were new vehicles. I cruised Woodward in the 70's and will continue to do so whenever I feel the need.

See you all out there as I drive on Woodward back and forth to work EVERY FRICKEN DAY.

By the way, It was during the week before the official Cruise that I got rear ended in my Jeep on the way home because all of those classic cars were out there before the "OFFICIAL" date. Lets keep them off Woodward until Saturday, shall we? Some of us actually have to function through our daily lives using that stretch of road.

A-men PeteC

Nothing worse than a youngster with his daddys car dictating what everybody else can drive to the cruise.

The only vehicle my old man gave me was an old '84 chevy truck,

Ill be crusin that.

Now i think i will take some white shu polish and rite GREAT LAKES 4X4 on the side

I give this tread 24 hours before the owner closes it because people dont agree with him,,,like the last "Bitch fest"

I bet he would take his ball and leave when he wasnt picked till last when he was younger

That and you just dont see clean ones, they were the last big motor'ed cars of the era... 79+ they started getting smog clamped down and 403's that were shitty motors. Then it went to V-6 2.8's and 350's

If thats the case a 'Kit' car needs to stay home too as its not even old enough (think kit Cobra or a kit T-bucket) :tonka:
I actually agree completely with you just going by what I read on the Dream Cruise site.

Not too many 70's Chevy's rust out even faster than 70's Ford's around here. :tonka:

How can you make the "power to the people" rant in bold letters but in the same post say "Lets keep them off Woodward until Saturday, shall we"? Maybe they were exercising their right to "use the open highways and by ways" themselves. What a celf centered, it's my way or it's the wrong way post.

Guess I should have put the sarcasm smiley in my post. Yep, sarcasm in telling people how to use the roadway in response to a post on how people should use the roadways.

I am self centered? Wow, what a way to take something out of context. Oh well.

My new favorite GLer just for remembering them. Too bad my SL isn't repainted yet Guess I'll just have to take the Rubi! Screw that, too many people trying to take me out everyday on 696, much less in an overheating 1973 Mustang II...

Edit - and for those who don't give a crap about what CC says go for driving the Jeep! - I'll take seeing one of those over 50% of the so-called "classics" that people bring there. Its not like you're going to see the really great cars in bumper to bumper traffic or with people walking right next to them in a crowd with their steel buttoned jeans. I know if I had anything in show shape right now - it would not be there!

Edit #2: My GTC is one of 235 made that year as turbo/5spd. Question: who cares? Answer: about 100 people. Guess that makes it special interest...see how fuzzy those "rules" are?

*start voice of captain barbossa from "Pirates of the Carribean/ "They're more guidelines than actual rules" /end voice*
