My 4th annual rant about the dream cruise. Leave your 4x4 at home!

NOBODY WANTS TO SEE YOUR JEEP, OR YOUR F-150 WITH 14" OF LIFT CRUISING WOODWARD DURING THE DREAM CRUISE!

Leave them at home, or park on the side streets, and walk to woodward. Do you have a classic 4x4? Then bring it!

Last year I heard 4x4 people (mostly jeep owners) crying about all the thugs in their impala's with dubs cruising woodward. There is nothing different from a jeep with 38" tires or a escalade on 24" rims. Neither are wanted on woodward during the cruise, they are both a dime a dozen, and there is nothing classic about them.

Direct from the WDC website:

What is it?

The Woodward Dream Cruise celebrates the heydays of the ‘50s and ‘60s when Woodward Avenue was the heart and soul of cruising in the city that put America on wheels. Combined with music and fashions of the era, the Dream Cruise celebrates the nostalgia of bygone days in the cars that made them so special. This is aimed at gathering classic cars in one location for the enjoyment of all. Classic cars are loosely defined as those manufactured before 1975 or a vehicle of special interest, such as a limited edition or one-of-a-kind automobile.

last year i rode im my brother-in-laws s10 on 44's. i know thats not the idea, but it was a sweet view looking down on everything. and people loved the burn outs. we went down and back then parked, i dont think theres much wrong with that, it would be another story if all we didnt was tool back and forth (like some people that i saw).

I agree with him... but until you see a Jeep making a second pass keep your mouth shut and your signs on the ground. I was stuck in traffic for an hour and a half last year just trying to make it to Woodward Auto to sit with my family and some friends.

It's still an open road and at least respect the people who are actually trying to make it somewhere.. and sometimes there isn't an alternate route...

no shit sasquatch, that is why its called a "dream cruise".

If you want "back in the day cruising" go to gratiot from 8-12 mile on any saturday. A great mix of tuner cars to classics.

ill have to agree with CC on this one. I almost wish they would shut down the road and make sure only classics where allowed in. Was suppose to have my 70 mustang there this year but 1/4 replacment has set me back a while.

the dream cruise is fucking retarded. I wouldnt even take a car of value there anymore. Too many accidents, too many retards and woodward isnt a cruise, its a parking lot. Tried to take the '78 Trans Am one year glad I didnt make it in time, when I go there it was nothing but overheated cars in the median.

But when I did sit on the side, I didnt mind the jeeps and shit, if it's modified it belongs. If its the family minivan get it outta there. Different strokes for different folks. A cruise is about the cars and the pride you have in 'em not how old it is... No one wants to see a Pinto either but hey its old so cruise it.

Two years back I watched a mob from across the street rip the bastard outta one of the buses and beat em to a pulp. Explaining to my 4 and 5 year old what that shit was on them buses made me wish i was one of them that helped ripped those pic off the bus
