60's and early 70's muscle cars have actually been great investments the past several years. Some of the nicer ones have been averaging over 10% appreciation for the past several years. I attended auctioneering school at the Kruse Auction Park down in Indiana a year or so ago. The best sellers at their auctions are the muscle cars. $100,000 collector cars are becoming a lot more common than you would imagine. All the baby boomers that did well are trying to re-acquire their favorite memories...

quite a few actually.

if you aren't aware of the wealth in the Oakland County area, either you live under a rock, or are from somewhere way out of state.

Kip Sheward has quite an inventory of exotics (he used to lease space from Bill Cook, then had a shop in Sylvan Lake, and now I believe is mostly online or in the Robb Report or the dupont registry)

then there's jack cauley, with the maserati, ferrari dealership - they had an enzo on the lot over the summer

bloomfield imports, etc, etc, etc.

not to mention that I believe that Roger Penski keeps some of his priceless collection of cars here in Oakland County, and you know damned well quite a few of the red wings, lions, pistons, and/or tigers all have ferrari's, lamborghini's, clk-gtr's and gt40s not to mention many may have classics like what you posted.

:dunno:

There a lot of classics, too, Real classics - 20s/30s/40s- in the area...

I'd say my grandpa has 5, maybe 6, that are above $100k, 4 below that, for collector cars..

the one I'm thinking of wasn't fedorov's... (besides, he wrecked his first one within a couple of weeks of taking delivery)

the owner of jack cauley, his kid goes to west bloomfield high, and well, his dad had the enzo home for prom weekend, so he could get his prom pictures taken in/around it.

he, or a friend of his (can't remember which) tried to pass it off as if they were taking said car to prom, and proceeded to get the BullShit flag waved into submission on another forum a while ago.

is your location accurate? or are you referring to equity in said house?

unless you've recently had a devastating house fire, I'd say that generally it's safe to say that if you offered your house for sale at 100k, it'd sell in less than a day (if it ever hit the MLS) if you live in rochester/rochester hills.

hell, most of the lots are worth that...

but yes, there is definately a wide spectrum of wealth in the county. areas of pontiac, hazeltucky, royal oak township (not city) etc where the standard of living, and housing values are quite, quite low, and on the opposite spectrum, 20-100 acre estates in oakland township, lake front mansions on orchard lake, etc, etc.

looks sweet but like it was said since its a clone its a huge rip-off. I am not a all original snob, any car i buy would be a driver not a trailer queen so dont take that as a slam against clones.

If i had to guess how many people had $100,000 cars in oakland county i would say a few thousand somewhere in the neighborhood of 5,000 households. Oakland county is like one of the top 5 wealthiest counties in the country.

Before I even read the paragraph...I was like that isn't a '70 like listed! Cloned or not, I absolutely love the '71 Cuda...especially in that color.....pardon me...I need to go change my underwear. :tonka:
