There needs to be some equity in the punishment here. Jose needs to have the hammer dropped on him. But so does the employer that pays or hires Jose.

A crafty Jose I am quite sure can craft some pretty good docs and fool many honest employers. But there are also plenty of employers that will look at an obviously forged document and look the other way because that will give them a short term advantage over their competition... Doesn't capitalism reward those that find advantage in the market... Even if taking that advantage is illegal. Some times there are benefits to breaking the law. These benefits need to be removed from both Jose and the employer.

We do need comprehensive immigration reform in this country. It needs to be complete and at many levels. From better fences and patrols in the desert to better enforcement at the employer level.

Both will have to give to make it work...
looks like he did make a suggestion..............It will probably never come to pass, but a suggestion none the less

Agreed.

No. The constitution forbids cruel and unusual punishments and torture.

It's about time. Arguing with me is futile. I am always right. Don't you forget it.

Yes, and once again I apologize for writing beyond your level of reading comprehension.

I thought it was clean when I wrote:

I do not know what the fine is for not verifying the employment eligibility of the people you hire and filling out the proper forms, but lets start with something reasonable, say $1000 for each violation.
That I was pulling a number out of my ass. Forgive me for not making that clear. I will try harder to make myself easier for you to understand in the future.

I'll give you the Mike Sova for the win, it's your, not you. But see on the flip side I understood what you wrote with the misspelling because I don't proof read my stuff so misspelling is writing to my comprehension.

I do agree companies that KNOWINGLY, that's a key word, hire illegal imigrants should be heavily punished. But the illegals shouldn't be coming here in the first place...it's not the American business men who are driving down to get them and bringing them across the border. I guess I'm for punishing the illegal, then doing investigations on the company after.

but the point is, if you remove thier reason for coming here, you would not have the huge expense of more border patrol, fences, towers, etc. to keep them out. If the employers are punished for hiring them, then most wont hire them, so fewer would even want to be here
