Default *Price Reduced* '01 Blazer ZR2 SAS Long Travel Coilovers LOW MILES Great Shape

I am throwing this out there to see if anyone might be interested in my Blazer. I don't have a burning desire to sell it and won't do so unless the price is right.

It is a 2001 Blazer ZR2, Black, with about 77,000 miles (approximate because it is in storage and I can't check it right now). This has been a project of mine since 2005. Most of the work was done between '05 and '08. I have not had any time to work on it for the past couple years and it has not moved more than 1/2 mile in 2 years.

PICTURES

Suspension/Steering:
-Custom built radius arm front suspension with trac bar (all using 1.75" DOM, 1 1/4" Chromo teflon heims with high misalignment spacers, qty 4).
-Custom coilover hoops and front cross member.
-Sway a Way 14" x 2.5" coilovers with remote resevoirs with 200/300 dual rate coils.
-National Spring Rear Leaf (~6" lift) with spring over axle conversion.
-No swaybars front or rear.
-Trailproof steering from BulletproofSteering.com with all heims and tie-rod over conversion.
-Astro van steering box (bolts into factory location but swings forward to give WAY betting steering angles.)
-Total lift roughly 10-12 inches

Axles:
-HP D44 front from '74 F100 with disc brake conversion, 4.56 gears, trac-rite locker, MileMarker lockouts, Poly C bushings, less than 3,000 miles on full rebuild (bearings, u-joints, ball joints, seals, etc.)
-Ford 9" rear from '74 F100, big bearing 31 spline, Daytona pinion support, 4.56 gears, full spool, Currie Enterprises drum kit, less than 3,000 miles on full rebuild (all bearings).

Transfer Case and shafts:
-Factory NP233, 3 button, short 231 rear sye, arizona driveline front sye
-Arizona Driveline rear CV drive shaft
-Arizona Driveline Bad Boy JR front drive shaft (does not clear transmission)

Engine / Transmission:
-Mostly stock 4.3L with KN drop in filter and power pulleys (crank and alt).
-Stock auto trans (4L60)

Interior:
-Pioneer head unit
-All power options (seat, windows, locks, heated mirrors).
-Cloth seats
-Battery box in back (was wired for dual batteries, but I have canibalized the batteries and wiring... easy to re-install).
-A/C works (last I checked)
-Wired for KC Daylighters

Other:
-Custom front bumper (made from heavy wall square tubing) with flag mount
-Custom steering box brace
-Chevy 1/2 ton brake master cylinder (S10 MC is too small for the big Ford brakes) makes brake pedal effort feel like stock
-Rear proportioning valve
-Flowmaster muffler with turndown
-35 x 17.50 x 15 Mickey Thompson Baja Belted tires (in very good condition... lots of tread and no tears or plugs).
-15 x 14 black rockcrawler steel wheels (US Wheel)
-High lift jack
-BF Goodrich Baja T/A Spare tire 35"
-Removable "street" bumper extension (with this on it meets bumper height laws, but unbolts easily with 3 bolts).

Negotiable (have but not installed):
-Fiberglass front fenders, unpainted
-Fiberglass front hood, unpainted
-KC Daylighters (130W)

Condition:
The vehicle is in very good condition. Everything works as it should. A/C was great at the dunes. The only thing I have ever broken on this vehicle was the rear driveshaft (the factory one when it was modified early on and the splines sheared off). It was replaced with a custom shaft and slip yoke eliminator. I do not have a working front drive shaft. I spent a good $500 at least on a Bad Boy JR only to find that it does not clear the transmission. Even in 2WD, this thing will really chug through some nasty sfuff. There are some scratches on the exterior (black paint shows everything), but nothing bad. Needs a new driver wiper arm. There is one very small dent below the drivers side rear seat window (it can be pulled out easily, just isn't bad enough to be on my list of priorities). The underbody is CLEAN and there is no rust. I take pride in cleaning this thing after every outing. It drives OK on the road. The suspension is very soft and there is a slight "reaction time" that you have to get used to. It drives straight and has minimal vibs (no vibs under 60, slight vibs 60-80, really not bad for unbalanced tires of that size). I have driven it Detroit to Silver Lake 3 or 4 times and Detroit to the Mounds 3 or 4 times and that is ALL of the miles since I started the project.

Over the summer I changed the oil (synthetic) and changed the transmission fluid and filter, even though it hasn't moved in 2 years.

What it needs:
-Front drive shaft (custom 1.5T CV shaft should work)
-Your personal touch

If you are looking for a project that has all the major investment already spent, this is it. I have spent EASILY $10,000 in parts on this thing. KBB is roughly $5,500 and I am testing the waters at $9,000. As I mentioned, I am not dying to sell this, but I will entertain any reasonable offer. I will post some pictures later. Truck is located in Almont, MI.

I am NOT interested in trades.

if im not mistaken i was up at the dunes a couple times and saw this in the line for vouchers and/or the line to get in the parking lot/dunes. This thing is sweet and once again i could be wrong but it looked stock in the back and the front was sitting alot higher. You really need to post pics of this to do it justice but it was built to be a prerunner right?

You are correct, that is me. That was early on when I didn't have the lift springs in the rear yet. It is pretty much level now, but I don't seem to have any pics after I dropped in the new springs. A link to some pictures is below:

http://picasaweb.google.com/chad.sut...eat=directlink

The rear is probably 2 inches lower than the front and I have blocks that someone can put in if they really want, but I was planning on bringing the front down 2 inches instead (it is pretty tall).

Looking through the pics again reminded me of some things I forgot in the original post. I made some edits.

I will say that the nice thing about it is that I started with a vehicle that was only 4 years old at the time with low miles. That means all the money can be put into modifying it rather than fixing old parts.

I added the flying blazer pic and some pics before the solid axle swap to the album. This makes me realize how few pics I have actually taken of this thing. I will try to take some more snap shots over the Christmas break (and check the mileage).

I didn't say that I wasn't going to go duning. I was hoping to just ride along in yours . Just not sure of the future plans yet.

Its a Ford 9" rear and a nice flat jump isn't that abusive. That landing was pretty smooth. The pictured jump is one of only two jumps done in this blazer. The other one got the tires only about 6-8" off the ground.

Add a LS(anything) and it'd be a wicked lil street machine.

no i meant more about the rough landing with leafs in the rear......i dont doubt the 9" but it could probably be due for some trussing along with the front

i did mean to ask you tho, has the four wheel ever worked since the conversion or its just been waiting for the shaft this whole time?

It has not had a front driveshaft in since the SAS swap. That has been killing me because I wanna know what it can do with 4x4.
