Modifying State Land

I live in an old logging town, and there is state land with some trails that run through some old logging areas. There is also a section we call slab town, where they used to harvest slate and other huge rocks. When I took GPS coordinates of thier dead ends, I notice they are only separated by 1/4 mile of trees. It would be awesome if they were connected. Both are state land.

Does anyone know the process of asking the state for permission to demolish some trees?

If you start making phone calls to the State, nobody will be able to answer your question. If you take the liberty of cutting some trees down, you will be introduced to the guy that knows everthing about the proper proceedure to do what you want (as he writes out the tickets).
