Default TH350 now squeals instead of goes into gear

Was adjusting my transfer case linkage today and finally got it dialed in decent. I was testing out the 4Low and 4Hi in Drive with a mild break applied to provide a little stress. I mean a LITTLE stress. was working and then suddenly the trans seem to have slipped. Now all gears forward and reverse seem to cause a squealing or slipping noise in the trans like its trying to work though the clutch but never engages fully. I will be dropping the pan to check fluids levels and general inspection. Any other suggestions (besides not trying to drive with the brake on)

After further investigation it does go in gear both reverse and drive. The noise seems to be coming from the torque converter area. Trans and motor mounts are straight and strong. I am thinking about a sea foam trans treatment, mild drive and then a trans flush and fill.

Make sure the converter bolts are tight. Mine made a strange noise for a while and it turned out to be loose bolts.

when the pump bushing went on my `01 GMC the front of the trans sounded like a turbo charger spooling up. it had all of 4400 miles on it when it went.

Did a little Seafoam treatment to the transmission....within 20 miles of driving the noise is completely gone. I will be flushing the foam out and replacing filter and fluid next week. Best $10 I have spent on this truck! I'm really amazed how much this effected not only the noise but also the shifting. It really smoothed things out.
