We would really need to know the gear ratio and probably if its stick or auto for the front driveshaft - or its running length.

There's a tag on the differential cover that has the ratio on it. You may need a wire brush to clean it off.

I have a stock ring and pinion for a front XJ 3.55 gear ratio. the only problem is that they are for a HP D44 axle. these are brand new no miles on them, but probably won't work in a stock YJ. but you can let anyone know.

XJ's don't have D44 fronts. Did you mean HPD30?

its more like 16 1/2 - 16 3/4 in from tail shaft to rear end on urs. I was thinking about it and I'm thinking it MIGHT not be ur ring and pinion. We need to take that cover off to see what goin on in there.
