Default YJ build.......yup.....another YJ build

I thought about not even doing a build thread. In fact I had it all typed up a week ago and changed my mind at the last minute because it will probably turn out reduntant or boring relative to other builds on GL4X4 or Pirate. In all the other builds I look at, in all of the people building rigs and how much experience is out there, ( not to mention the money involved)...... well honestly, I'm brining nothing to the table that hasn't already been done. Keepin it basic, simple and proven with mostly used parts so I can keep it as cheap as possible. Thats my story and I'm stickin to it. Until, inevitably, something changes and the build spirals out of control.

So here is what I started with.

Specs,
-92' YJ
-5.7 TBI with a few bolt-on's
-700R4 with mild work /ArtCarr
-Atlas 1 3.0
-Drive Line Solutions Drive Shafts
-4.56's
-Waggy D44 up Front, cut and rotated, Detroit, HI-Steer
-Currie Hi-Pinion 9 rear, 35 spline alloys, Detroit, Disc'd
-Lift leafs in front and a Linked ear with double shackle leafs with Bilsein 7100
remote resi's and some RS9000's in the rear
-37" MTR's on 1079 Procomp alloys

Pro's-it was done and fun for the family. Decent trail and pavent prowess and wasn't bad in the rocks.

Cons- Too tall, short factory wheel base and was real tippy. Had to wheel pretty easy so as to not break in a bad spot with my wife and kids with me.

Here's what 'm gonna change

-Ford D60 King/Hi-Pinion upfront Full width. Detroit, 4.56's,Stock no-neck shafts and 35 Spline outers/ Warn Premiums (No drive flanges, it is on the pavement frequently
-14 Bolt in the rear/ Disc Conversion/ BTF Trussed and Pinion guard/ minor shaving for now, Detroit and 4.56's
-Fox 16" Coil-over remote's and Branik 7075 2" links with heims up front
-Frenched XJ's leafs in the rear ( all the while dropping it approx. 5")
-West Texas Offroad Stage II Hyro-assist Kit with Ford drag link for now
-Stretched to mabey somewhere around 105"
-Different fuel cell so the 14 Bolt dosen't bump it's head.
-Aluminum Radiator and different electric fan than the one that is in it now
-H2 wheels rapped in 40's, probably, depending on whats out there when it's
time to get the tires
-Up Grading the lights. I.E.; H.I.D. Headlights, LED rocklights,
-New Comm's
-Gonna try a BBC TBI set up on a bored SBC aluminum intake.( heard that
makes some good cheap H.P.

Thats the basics. I'm sure I'll make some changes along the way. I am happy to get and am open to "constructive criticism". But please keep it clean and family friendly. My wife and kids are excited to see this come back to life as am I and I am going to include them in it from this view point as well as their occasional visits to the garage.

Pics are on the way as soon as I can get the upload to cooperate with me.

The 454 throttle body is the way to go to get some juice out of a TBI small block, boring the stock intake helps, but an aftermarket intake and cam will help more.

I was wonderin' about the aftermarket intake. I've got alot to do before I dive into that. It runs fine now with what I've done to it. But thankyou for the input.

At one point I had something forwarded to me regaring that. I'll look for it later. I think that it is a fairley easy conversion. Although I think I remember in that set up having to run the comp. from a bbc tbi truck. I'll keep you posted.

It'll be sooner as long as the passenger side of the roll cage for my taller friends dosen't take too long to custom fabricate.

"Roll-over....it's not just 401K verbage"

I didn't know I had someone else other than my "older brother" to jab at me.
