Default Paypal scams?

Anything to pay attention to lately so you don't get scammed as a seller on Paypal? I'm about to sell a bike, so any heads up to scams would be good. Is there anything where they can send a payment and then have it turn up fake later? Thanks!

Once the money is in your paypal account it is a done deal...nothing anyone can do about it. It would have to be a real friggin elaborate scam to send a fake payment through paypal and even if it did happen I would think paypal would have your back, they are all about buyer/seller protection.

Last time I sold something on Ebay, I had to wait like a fucking month for the money to clear. I had to confirm that the item was shipped via a tracking number, and then the purchaser had to confirm they received the item and it was what they expected. I guess it's nice to cover both your asses, but it fucking sucks when the person misses the delivery date like 4 times, then doesn't confirm with ebay for a week that they actually received the item.

I'm not sure if it only does that for transactions through ebay though.

I sell stuff on ebay everyday, and I've never had to wait for money to clear. I have had most of my issues with paypal NOT wanting to help me over the phone, because the account is in a business name, but they ask questions about the owner of the business...

I don't know my boss's last four of his soc, or his dog's neighbors maiden name.

I personally wont deal with PayPal anymore..someone got my info from thier site (not sure how, but it happened) then started a website and used my paypal account to pay for it

paypal did nothing to correct this, and told me they werent going to do anything...they suggested I change my password or something along those lines

luckily, the server company did, and I got my money back.

I had already cancelled my paypal account and closed the bank account it was tied to

I recently had a guy purchase a harness for $65 off ebay. he paid paypal and gave me the shipping address that went with the card that he has on file at paypal. So i shipped the harness out then the day it was suppose to arrive, he called paypal and said his card was stolen and someone else bought the item. so paypal pulled the money from My account and gave it back to him. leaving me with a negitive balance due to a purchase I made the night before.

needless to say they fucked me over. and I fought for 3 days to only get them to place my account as a $0 balance rather then a -$26.

paypal is full of shit lately due to anyone saying there card was stolen.

just make sure you use a tracking number. the extra $1 is worth it. it was the only reason I was able to have most of the money returned.

x2. we do a ton of business with paypal and I've never once experienced any kind of a problem.

I do find it funny that all these people have their accounts "stolen".. I'm guessing they're falling for the fake email from paypal asking them for their username/pword

I hadnt even used the account in a while (6-8 months or so?) and there is no way I would fall for one of those email scams...I'm not sure how the person got my info, but thats besides the point...pay pal would do nothing about it, and said it wasnt thier problem

X2
I will only accept bids from buyers with a high feedback rating and have been members for more than a year if the item I'm selling is more than $25. Unless the item I'm selling isn't that much money anyway, then I may accept a bid rom a newbie bidder ( you gotta start somewhere) .
