1988 Toyota 4x4 truck - EFI - good little truck - SOLD
This thing is cute as a button. real quick, I bought this truck with the motor tore apart...put a mid 90's 22re from a rollover in it with not able to be proven low miles...motor was completely dissassembled, cleaned, all new gaskets, starter, oil pump, newer water pump, newer clutch, then dropped back in. Truck has 138k miles on it IIRC. Good shifting 5 speed. Top shift transfer case. Gas tank from a 93 I just put in as old one was spraying fuel out the top of fuel pump. all new brake lines from the passenger side junctions to the back, all new brakes and slave things and rotors turned. Frame and bed bobbed. I have a rock style bumper that I need to plasma out some holes for the brand new LED tails. Heat and fan works great, windows go up and down, wipers work, pioneer CD player, aftermarket door speakers, decently clean interior for 22 years old. I consider it to not have very much rust. Truck runs and drives down the road. It needs some fine tuning to run ship shape...I am used to domestic and newer stuff so this is foreign to me(pun intended). For example the TPS is supposed to be set at a certain output...
1. I need to finish the rear bumper and simply put the lights in the bumper. Looks rad bobbed.
2. I need to cut/trim the drivers front fender, I cut the passenger side to accomidate larger tires - no really cut it b/c the well had some rust.
3. Needs a fine tune job...has all new plugs and whatnot, just setting some sensors maybe even check the timing with a gun.
4. driver door speaker 1 wire is broke..speaker doesn't work.
I got it from a buddy and I believe he bought it brand new. In my opinion this can and could be a good little truck. I've done a bunch to it and frankly am just bored with it. I'll continue to messs with it and if nobody wants it thats fine ill just procede as planned and run it as my DD while my Jeep turns into the playmobile. I would like $1200 for it, and I am fairly firm on that. No I do not want any vehicle/motorcyle/quad/sled trades. I might be interested in some cool Jeep Wrangler TJ parts as partial, TJ hardtop/softtop, or 8.8 detroit. Thanks.
front bumper is literally paper thin.
here the bumper is not on and currently the LED's are taped into place until I can plasma the holes out.
Not bad for a 22 year old interior eh? Could look considerably better with a little elbow grease.
what the front fender looked like before I trimmed it.
What the rear looked like before it got bobbed.
Imagine on 35's and beadlocks no tires and wheels are not included.
Literally how it looked when I got it...minus half the assembled motor.
