Really makes me want to buy a DCX product...

I think they are forgetting where they sell the majority of their product.

I am sorry mike. I appear to be missing the point. I went and looked at the picture. Where is the billboard?

That pic was in the latest Car and Driver. Just marketing and playing off of other countries disdain for Americans. Doesn't bother me in the least. I will not buy another DCX vehicle but for very different reasons than that billboard.

Use what you have to sell. What is the problem with that?

I can't see the pic either.. my work must be filtering it.

I'll say it:

If you spend $10k, $20k, $30k+ on a car for anything other than getting the best car for your money, you are an idiot. I'm not going to live with a piece of shit, whoever makes it, for 5 years just to make a political statement.

Apparently I suck at linking pics.

I'll summerize.

It was a billboard in South Africa, i belive, for the new Smart car. It says, "German Engineering, Swiss innovation, American nothing"

I just think that its really sad that a company, that gets a majority of its sales from this country, is bad mouthing our country to sell in another market.

Maybe GM and Ford should come out with a campaign with a picture of Dr. Z and say, "At least we didn't burn Jews"

that's pretty ignorant to not think that the person who is designing the said "crap" doesn't know that it's "crap". I'm sure that he'd know better than the common man. Go Jesus !

I didn't mean it as American Made is crap.

I should have spoken more clearly.

I meant to say: Im my experience, people in other countries often perceive that american made vehicles are inferior to german or japanese vehicles.

Who the fukc cares if its a marketing ploy or anything. We are not respected in alot of countries so sure, why not use that to profit off it.

If your competitor was selling an inferior product you would point that out in your sales pitch with tact right? So what, they lacked a little tact, but kudos to them.

I think its really funny how everyone gets all up in arms when DCX comes out with vehicles that don't fit their idea of the Jeep brand name, yet they can demean the people who buy the majority of their products along with the people that design the majority of their products and suddenly everyone applauds their marketing campaign.

I think it shows how much the average american does not understand how we are perceived worldwide, ESPECIALLY after the polcies of the current administration.

Well said. If DCX can make lots of money by bashing us in the countries that hate us and a few of the $$$ trickle down to Jeep then I'm fine with it. Just good marketing even if you think it sucks. They are a business and are not trying to make friends but earn money to stay in business. They can also do whatever they want so long as they don't change the new Challenger!!

They also probably didn't think MsChaffer was smart enough to hunt that down on the interweb :tonka:
