Default Tire Fitment on 03 chevy

Hey Everyone, So i have an 03 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4. When I got the truck it had the torsion bar cranked jus about the whole way it could go and had 285/65R16's. This summer I'm hopin to put a 3" body lift on and I was wonderin if anyone had it done and could tell me if I could fit 35's on a 16" rim. I've been told I could do it but I'd rather ask someone who has it done. Thanks

K, well 285/65r16 are 31x11.2r16 tires. If you meant 285/75r16 those would be 33x11.2R16. I've put 285/75R16 on stock trucks and had them not hit. So w/ the keys cranked way up and 3" body lift, id say you'd be able to clear 35". 315/75R16 would calculate out to be 35x12.5R16.

Has anyone done this? im sure someone has.I want 35's under the GF's Tahoe and I dont want to cut The bumper. I have 33's under my stock height k1500 with no clearance issues.

I have the Tahoe cranked up now and have 8 1/2 inches of clearance from fender to tires all the way around. will 3 inch body lift get it high enough?

I would leave it alone. I think you will have some cleance issuses depending on the backspaceing of the wheel you use, and body lifts don't look that good anyway. If you're dead set on running 35s drop dime on a 6 inch suspention lift. But hey, its your truck do what you want.

agreed. want bigger tires install a lift kit designed for it. a 6" lift will clear 35's and you won't need the bars cranked up. one thing most forget is with bigger tires they need to regear. that costs a decent chunk of change on an IFS truck.

:b lah::bla h:
Just so we are clear, i enjoy everyones input and when it comes to dropping a grand on the truck for body lift and tires im good with that.... spending an extra grand +++ for a suspension lift on a vehicle that will rarely see off road not good with that........ it has 3.73 front and rear with the 35's it will drop that down but it will still get out of its own way.

So is that a yes they will fit?

Well if you dont want to hear input, dont start a thread.

You did not say what the truck would be used for. Maybe you should check out some of the full size forums seeing that 90% of guys here are JEEP's or SFA rigs.

check out fullsizechevy.com for just about every single question you could ever want to ask about your trucks and any other chevy/gmc

And yes, your 03 with a 3" body lift and the TBs cranked will fit a set of 315/75-R16s with stock wheels/backspace (5")

My friend clears 315/75r16's on his 2000 Sliverado with a 3" body lift and a 1.5" t-bar crank.
