Default Mr. Toes is a prophet?

A while back, Toes said something along the lines of once I get married, I will be eventually be attending church regularly and be a good believing bible thumper. Well, just like biblical prophecy, it didn't really come true, but kind of, not really.

I am now attending church with my wife and you can read about it here:

this is why I am looking for an antsiest woman, less nagging about a ring and no nagging about church.

are you still married? the term 'eventually' does not have a finite time frame with it. perhaps it's still too early to judge if it has or will come true, especially since it appears that you've blogged about two whole church services...

Guys, chill out. I'm not converting, did you read why I'm going? I'm an atheist, there's no amount of church going that's going to change that, unless they start presenting evidence for a god rather than reading random passages out of the bible. From what I've seen at the church services I've attended (throughout my life), science and logic doesn't play a big role.

If you read my blog, you'll find that I wasn't being nagged to go to church, I offered to go if we made an agreement that she would give a significantly smaller chunk of change to the church. She accepted. Our household is now giving a lot less to the church and now we're filling two spots on the pew...It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside that a church is getting less money. Plus I really enjoy taking notes and writing the blog so far.

I know you don't think most of us who believe have given enough thought on the matter, but many of us were skeptics, agnostics or atheists as well.

Actually, doesn't god love her less now because she's not giving up the full 10%?

Were you a skeptic who was converted based on personal experience or evidence?

If evidence is shown to me that can prove that a god exists, I'll believe. If a god starts talking to me, I'll believe. Until then, I'm a skeptic.

If you want to get technical, I'm an agnostic atheist. I don't (can't) know whether a god exists, but I also lack a belief in a god.

Read this

Gnosticism refers to knowledge, Theism refers to beliefs. They are two very different things.

People like to use the term "agnostic" (wrongly) as a middle ground of belief between theists and atheists. There is no middle ground, you either believe in a god or don't believe in a god, there isn't another option.

after a search, I found I've responded to this before
here
.

Nope, and he doesn't love you any less either. God Bless you Mike. Jess is showing her love by doing whatever it takes to get you there. She and God are winning the battle for your soul in my opinion!

He loves her more because she brought you and now He loves you as much. Besides it is not how much you give it is giving from the heart that counts.
Giving to the church is helping different programs that the church operates, feeding the needy, helping the poor in third world countries and here too.
Just like you need to be paid for your job right? Lets say that your boss thought you could do with less pay, how would you feel?
Give from the heart, freely not grudgingly. If you do not feel happy giving then don't give at all.
BTW glad to see you going to church. You need to know that it is about a relationship with Jesus Christ, not religion.
Merry Christmas Mike and Mikes Wife :)

You know there was a disciple called Thomas and he was doubtful that Christ rose from the dead. Thomas said I will not believe untill I see the holes in His hands. Christ showed him and asked him to touch the holes. Thomas did believe.
Mike you to will believe, because I pray that The Lord our God will reviel Himself to you in such a way that you will have no doubt in your mind that Christ is who He says He is, and that the old Mike will be no more and we will all see a new Mike. Born again in Christ, Amen

God is great, you just haven't opened your eyes to see all His glory and yes religion does poison everything. It is about relationship with Christ.
