Default 02 Tracker issues!

The wife and I were driving down the road today and heard some noises from the rear of our 2002 Chevy Tracker. It's been a pretty reliable vehicle and we're just the second owners.

I climbed underneath and found that the rear passenger side axle mounted bracket that mounts the shock and the lower control arm has rusted through and the shock part broke off. So the lc arm is still in place, but I'm afraid to drive it since we're in Michigan and a good pothole could finish the rusted bracket off.

We limped it home and parked it, I'm planning on getting some over the phone quotes from some local shops, last resort dealerships, but was wondering if anyone else has had this happen.

I'm assuming a shop worth it's salt can fab me a new bracket and get it back on the road, but not sure if there's any good shops around me. I'm in the Clarkston/Waterford area if anyone has any input!
