Go explore the place in 2hi,its got some cool shit to see.If ya find a spot on the seasonal road where you need 4wheel drive use it,responsible, dont be a dick and the dnr probly wont treat you like one.
Good advice. If you want to get in a pissing match, they aren't the ones to do it with because they will about always win.

Go to Rocks and Valleys. In Harrison MI. They have camping and wheeling.
And that weekend plenty to see.

Holy crap time to ban nonmotorized off road recreation! Gotta save the forest from evil hikers now!
*sarcasm*

Seems that illegal wheeling would take a big hit if they had trails for us to run on.

And that's why bicycles are also being banned in MANY areas now too.
Foot travel is also under attack. Look up "Cryptobiotic Soils".

I agree that it's gotten completely out of control, but then there's only one group fighting to keep things open and not enough wheelers support them for it to be very much of a problem for the DNR. Don't like it? Support the Sport and join GLFWDA. All the complaints in the world won't change things. Only action can do that.

I wont go there, rules are you need to wear a helmet at all times when wheeling no exceptions. I can see this rule for ATV's and open top vehicles but for Vehicles with a roof...come on! I am not going to subject my kids to wearing helmets all day long in the middle of summer!

Have you looked into Silver lake? It is dunes and sand but there is camping available and is a good time for the family.

Other than that your only other options are Twisted Trails, Rocks and Valley's, The Mounds, St. Hellens, and Bundy Hill.
