Default 1989 Jeep Wrangler motor swap

I have a 1989 Jeep Wrangler with 2.5L with 5 speed manual trans, motor is going bad was wondering what tranny is in it and if that tranny will bolt up to a straight six of that year.

the 5 spd is not up to the task of the 6cyl. it will break asap. its barley up to the task of the 4cyl.
the trans is an ax5. its garbage. if your gonna swap motors, swap the trans out too.

if you wanna keep a 5 spd look into an ax15 or a nv3550.

sorry for the bad news. good luck

How about none? Extending your shackles will reduce your caster value and cause the vehicle to steer like shit.

Put your lift into your springs or go SOA. You don't want long shackles.
