I saw this last night and thought about it. I have NEVER collected unemployment, worked at least 1 job since the age of 15, I have Never not paid my taxes and bills. I have never lived above my means. I have owned a successful business, employed more than a dozen people for over 10 years. Have 2 1/2 kids in and through college and almost zero debt.
What an asshole I am....... I'm doing it all wrong. I think the message the government is sending is differnt than the one my father taught me.

Absolute f'in bull. I'm so tired of paying everyone else's bills while they (some, not all) dick off all day. HATE those "hey, wanna go hunting?" calls when it's Tues am, "no, I have a f'in job so I can pay YOU to f'in hunt". The first wave was tolerable, it's just getting to be too much. My wife (full-time nurse) will be "retiring" within next couple years as we get taxed so much it barely pays. Plus we would love to be able to stay home with our kids while someone else pays our bills like so many are CHOOSING to do today. I hope many more follow like us and eventually people have to start working for their possesions again.

The changed name is The United States of Entitlement, the changed motto is I deserve, the hope is, I hope my government check is early, and the yes is, Yes the government can take care of me. Do you ever listen to guy's like Sova, they believe this shit is good and is what life should be like.

Sad thing is we all know better and are doing nothing about it.

Sweet. look at all you suckers working and paying bills. HAHA. 7 days off a week, free house, free health care, free food. Now all I need is that new car. No more working for me. I am going to live the good life on your dime.

I am just being a smartass. I have worked longer and harder since being unemployed than when I was working. I also get to pay $50 a day to work and not get paid. It is all in the hopes that it will pay off in the near future and my family will be back on our feet. Until then we will be using the savings we built up and enjoying the reduced bills we have worked had to bring down.

This operates then as a tax for the maintenance of the poor. -- A very good thing, you will say. But I ask, Why a partial tax? Why laid on us Farmers only? -- If it be a good thing, pray, Messrs. the Public, take your share of it, by indemnifying us a little out of your public treasury. In doing a good thing there is both honour and pleasure; -- you are welcome to your part of both.

For my own part, I am not so well satisfied of the goodness of this thing. I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. -- I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. In my youth I travelled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer. There is no country in the world where so many provisions are established for them; so many hospitals to receive them when they are sick or lame, founded and maintained by voluntary charities; so many alms-houses for the aged of both sexes, together with a solemn general law made by the rich to subject their estates to a heavy tax for the support of the poor. Under all these obligations, are our poor modest, humble, and thankful; and do they use their best endeavours to maintain themselves, and lighten our shoulders of this burthen? -- On the contrary, I affirm that there is no country in the world in which the poor are more idle, dissolute, drunken, and insolent. The day you passed that act, you took away from before their eyes the greatest of all inducements to industry, frugality, and sobriety, by giving them a dependance on somewhat else than a careful accumulation during youth and health, for support in age or sickness. In short, you offered a premium for the encouragement of idleness, and you should not now wonder that it has had its effect in the increase of poverty. Repeal that law, and you will soon see a change in their manners. St. Monday, and St. Tuesday, will cease to be holidays. SIX days shalt thou labour, though one of the old commandments long treated as out of date, will again be looked upon as a respectable precept; industry will increase, and with it plenty among the lower people; their circumstances will mend, and more will be done for their happiness by inuring them to provide for themselves, than could be done by dividing all your estates among them.

On the Price of Corn, and Management of the Poor
-Ben Franklin-November 29, 1766

Well,
Is anyone surprised?

Really surprised?

We are build a notion of entitlements and will continue to do so until the backs of the responsible are broken. I wonder who will pay then? In typical fasion, the responsible people that eventually fall on hard times will not be able to take advantage of aid that we provided while we were taxpayers.

It is great when we as a nation can help other countries that do need it, but we must do more to feed the needy in this country and we have too many people right now that desparately need help.
Oue government is so far out of touch with reality in this country that they think everybody is good.
