Default converting 79 to hydraulic clutch

does anyone here have experience swapping from the rod type clutch to a hydraulic clutch? going to do the swap on a 79 F-350 with a T-18. planning to use the hydraulics from an 80s f-150 with a 435.

any help or advice would be appreciated.

I've converted a bunch of cars and trucks from auto to manual, so yes, I've got some ideas.

The easiest hydraulic setup I've found for swaps is the 88-98 Chevy fullsize truck clutch master cylinder. It has a straight shaft that goes though the firewall and bolts up to the clutch pedal (most clutch master cylinders go off at a wacky angle). You basically have to measure the throw of the master cylinder and find the spot on the pedal where you have that amout of movement. Then drill out the three holes in the firewall and bolt everything up. Super easy.

Depending on the thickness of the firewall, you will probably have to reinforce the area with a simple plate.

I used this setup when I swapped a 4.3 and T5 tranny into my samurai and it worked great.

I have 3 Fords in the driveway that I've done this 2 and I use a small willwood master and a pull style slave. It's stupid simple 2 do. I run a strap of steel from the 205 frame mount to the back of the pull. A piece of 3/16 brake line and your done. RB
