i didn't even wash it though, lol

I was contemplating putting for sale my DD, however, after reading this thread I don't feel like doing all the necessary cleaning.

I was about to say... Come on man! They aren't that dirty and it's too damn cold to do a wash/wax/polish job right now!

I list my vehicles as is. You know how I used it. I'm not trying to polish a turd or pretend my truck was never off road etc.
It is what is and I'm gonna tell you what I did with it "as you can see". That being said my for sale rigs are not full of trash and junk etc. And it doesn't look like it just came out of a swamp. But I am not washing it. I live down a dirt road. I am not shampoo ing carpets etc. A quick vacuum and hose off is what you get. But at least you know what your getting

One time I bought an XJ.

I washed/polished/waxed it and detailed the interior in 4 hours.

Doubled my money.

The next owner flipped it and still made $500.

that XJ was on craiglist for 3 weeks before I bought it.

(Don't wash your shit.)

I didn't clean the car, plus it rained. It hid the fact that hail had turned the car into a dimpled mess. It also hid all the rust that was starting.

I didn't clean the interior, except for vacuuming and removing trash, otherwise they would have seen all the stains in the carpet and interior.

I ran 20W50 in the motor to keep ticking at bay.

I also turned the rotors to hide the brake warp.

I don't miss that car, it was POS Chrysler product.

I got asking price too.

that's fine, but don't expect top dollar or a quick sale, LOL

and this applies more to things you DON'T want because when you don't want something anymore, you need to make it shiny so someone else will want it

I agree with the OP, I sold some torsion keys from my ranger when I did the coilover swap and when they sold I took a brush real quick to them and a can of rustoleum.

They were only a $35 part but I'm sure the buyer appreciated them cleaned up. Golden rule I guess, I might not get them clean but in my mind I'm hoping they are.

Shit I cleaned my 84 fiero and 85 omni before selling, both were sub 1k beaters. All were clean enough to take a date out in, but that never happened :{

Hell Yes! That seat would suck the change out of your pockets! I think I got about $15 in change out of that thing!
