I pulled the motor, tranny and transfer case this weekend. Now hopefully I can get them all freshened up before the weekend. With any luck, put it all back together and run it by Sunday.

Update:
I haven't worked it too much, but I'm in no rush, I got all winter. I decided to go with a 383 crate motor. I figure how could I go wrong with a warranty and all. I'm going to try and get the body fixed up a bit this winter or maybe go south for a new one. idk yet. I have a new bumper on the back that carries a fullsize spare on a swing out and is an air tank and houses a 12500# winch. I'll post up some pics if I remember to take some next time I'm out there.

I think some where I saw you might want a clean body, I found this one in Michigan. It is $500 and it will save you from going to far south to find one.

Some crappy pics of my new rear bumper.

The rear latch for the swing out didn't work out well so I have to redo it.

Once the latch is fixed I can move on to mounting the rear winch. Then it will get covered with bedliner.

I decided to make another change. Now I want fuel injection, so I sadly got rid of my 355
But now I'm gonna rock a 6.0 It looks like a real project with the wiring and all.

Now I'm in the market for a newer 4L60E or 4L80E to put behind it.

For some reason I felt like working today, so I pulled the front clip and engine harness. I have some cleaning up to do under the hood. I will be replaceing the fenders anyway so might as well have them out of the way. I'll have motor mounts on the way here shortly. I just need to find a tranny and transfer case for it, and I can set it in to see how the 6.0 fits. Here's a few pics of how it sits tonight.

Sorry about the pics, they came from my cell phone.... again

I got my motor mounts the other day. They are for a 2wd S10 LSx conversion.

Then I scored a 4L80E

So then I thought it would be a good time to see how it fit. It didn't go as planed and I had to separate the motor from the tranny to get it in there. Then since I had 2wd motor mounts the motor didn't still didn't fit. I really wish I still had the old 355 at this point. So I took my motor mounts and swaped them side to side and flipped them up side down, ans slid her right in.
Its real tight but looks like everything will work out.
