1991 Tracker Auto Hub Removal

I am planning on replacing the auto hubs on my tracker with a set of manual hubs. According to the manual the end caps have to be removed and then a snap ring taken out. Then remove the bolts holding the base of the hub to the vehicle. I can see how the cap on the manual hub was made to come on and off with bolts holding it down. But the automatic has a cap pressed on the end and I am wondering if it really needs to come off? ANyone out there have experience with this auto hub removal. Thanks.

Just been told that the cap is to be removed by turning with an oil filter wrench. Thought I would add to this for others future reference.
