hi, i am in desperate need of a car and i just had another baby, i know grand prixs ive had quite a few of them and i love them. but i have 1800 cash in hand for anyone who has or knows anyone who has a nice 97 or newer grand prix gtp, or possibly a gt but id rather have the supercharger....others i will consider are 99 or newer grand ams, jeep grand cherokee or another nice suv, just pretty much something sporty but still a family vehicle. i am a mechanic so i dont mind if it needs some work done, thanks call or text 765-578-1287 or 765-499-5089

Yea I get that. I guess I just think differently. If I had 2 kids and couldnt afford a pot to piss in I'd be looking for a reliable car, not something extravagant.

Reliable + $1800 = nonexistent. IMO

really you must not know how to spin a wrench, I personally own 2 vehicles I have less than $1000 each into that I would not hesitate to drive to California and back.
Cheap car + dumb incompetent owner = cheap reliable wheels

I don't see much wrong with that ad. They are looking for a 4-dr vehicle and identified which models they would prefer. They are considering vehicles over 10 years old - none of which are extravagant (even the GTP). The only issue I see is the unrealistic budget, but functional XJ's in decent shape have come across GL before. IIRC, CC bought one at half that price and flipped it for around that price (maybe more?) after replacing whatever sensor/bolt-on part was f'd up.

I fail to see the problem with this wated ad. He is willing to pay cash for a car, and listed what he would prefer. I dont see how a 10 year old+ car is "extravagant" especially a gtp...

I am pretty good with a wrench, but I drive 30,000+ miles a year. I don't see getting a car for $1800 and have it be "reliable" driving as much as I do. I suppose everyone's definition of reliable is different.

to me if someone desperately needs a car because they have a new baby a supercharger shouldn't even be on the list. he's going to be lucky to find a nice SE with decent miles for $1800. i would bet he would take a beat to shit GTP over a lower miles SE for the same price.

reliable can be found for cheap. i bought a $500 93 cavalier z24. put less than another 400 into it, and drove the piss out of for over 70k miles before i sold it.

And I highly doubt you put no more than a penny into it before you sold it.
