If you are looking for a pretty easy swap that doesn't invovle much welding or welding at all, a d44 from an early bronco would be good. I personally never saw an axle with all the brackets and radius arms for under $250 and the most I saw was nearly a grand.

the 44 is an almost bolt in swap. a little work but very simple.

he's just asking for an opinion... I think for your first build you should try and take it to someone that has some experience. Even though it's an almost bolt on job, there is still a lot involved. Find a good junk yard d44 out of an early bronco and start there. But you will most likey have to purchase some shorter coils up front because of the added height the straight axle will add. Good luck with the project, and stay away from the nos!!!! (it's dangerous )

if u do, do the nitrous make sure u have someone program the computer or u will blow it up so fast it wont even be funny, but it would be fun to screw with cars on the road with a explorer with nitrous.

Wrong... The answer is not to do nitrous. It also would not help him mess around with cars on the street.. 4.88 gears + 4.0liter engine = lucky to get up to 65
