Froze my ass the other night...

I have my dad's Questar 3 1/2" telescope (they loaded us all in the station wagon and went to Nova Scotia in 1972 to photograph the eclipse) and I got the little plastic adapter ring for the Nikon as a Chritmas present. It was 3 degrees the other night when I was trying to figure everything out. I have a lot to learn!

The detail is amazing! There are a couple more shots and bigger files at

if you want to see more

this was in Gore Bay Ontario on our honeymoon. Only had the camera for 1 week (Canon XSi with the 2 lenses that came in the kit). I thoguht it was pretty good for a stock lens and not knowing wtf I was doing. I would love to have more camera equipment but it makes building a buggy look cheap...

The key to good astrology shots is high-end optics and a smooth tracking drive to follow waht you're shooting.

We have a 8" dobsonian-mount reflector telescope and looking at the moon is incredible. The scope gathers so much light, you need to use filters on your lenses or it is like looking at a 60W light bulb through binoculars!
