Default Granholm

OK, I am generally a Conservative Republican, but am considering voting for Granholm this fall. The main reason is that I believe Michigan's economy is truly in need of a make-over if we want to survive and Granholm has a plan to make michigan a technology and science core and reduce dependence on manufacturing (something I appreciate especially as a Biochemist). So what I need to know is, what is the other side of Granholm. Does she support legislation that would negatively impact our ability to wheel or use parks in Michigan? How about hunting or fishing? How about this stupid "trash importation" agenda where we are turning our beautiful state into a trash dump for greater North America?

Discuss.

NO for her:stan3: . She is the one that brought forest certification here. The first state to enroll their forests in large amounts.

"In February 2004 Michiganís Governor Jennifer Granholm announced that nearly four million acres of Michigan state forestland will be assessed by independent auditors to assure they are managed to the FSCís standards of responsible forest management.

Governor Granholmís announcement launches what will be the largest single FSC forest certification project on public or private land in the United States"

WOW you can't be serious. Have you looked into any of this? This is created by people that aren't even remotly involved in Michigan or our economy. They are here to tell us what's is best for us.

Do anybody who enjoys the outdoors a favor and Google "Forest Certification"

Don't worry about what Granholm can't do, read about what DeVos will do:

http://www.devosforgovernor.com/Medi...AroundPlan.pdf

Be patient, it is a 10meg file.

If you have any more questions about what DeVos' plan involves, feel free to email me, or call me.. I can pm you my number.

please pay BIG attention to page 7, which shows information on unemployment after granholm took office compared to the rest of the country..
You will also see that michigan is the only state to lose jobs since granholm took office. Besides louisiana, but that is because of the hurricane.

Page 28 outlines the enviroment. Its a good read, and will show you that treehuggers won't be able to stop our access unless they provide scientific data to back their claims of us damaging the enviroment.

What involvement do you have in the forestry industry? Just curious.

Granholm surely passed it cause of her green tree hugging buddies. FSC is yet another hand in the pot in my opinion. With todays day and age, the Forests are well managed. Reason being is they have the greenies on thier ass. If they clear cut without proper planning and management the greenies make hell with the locality allowing it and with the media.

I said when Granholm became govenor, she bothers me because she is not a Michigan native. We need someone native to our state.

None. Actually I'm a network geek that recommends and implement scanning solutions and storage that move customers towards a paperless workflow. I have just been involved with the DNR ORV Advisory meetings. I also have a cabin up north and have seen the excuse of Forest Certification to close a lot of trails and roads.

Did you know part of the process/goal of certification is to set aside large areas of forest that can have no human activity to be used as a example to base the rest of the progress?

HOLY CRAP....you really need to quit reading Clancy and start reading what is going on in Michigan. Go to some ORV meetings...get involved with GLFWD.ORG....something.

I won't vote for her because she is totally screwing up the education system. Cut cut cut....that's what she is doing. When she was first running....her main headline that she ran on was "I will not cut money to our schools. I will move them forward and prepare them for the future of technology."

The FIRST thing she did after taking the oath was to cut money to ALL schools...lower public, college, university...all of them. Then the state freaked out and she gave back 80% of the money cut to the universities and got on her propaganda horse and told everyone she was giving the money back to the "schools".

Well, the public schools got NONE of that back and to top it off, she put in a new audit process that she is forcing schools to go through that is costing them even MORE money.

Thanks. This is what I wanted to know. Do to this one statement (if true) I will NOT be voting for her. I fought like a MoFo in the late '90's against the Clinton Roadless Initiative (which was put in place in the end by Clinton Executive order and removed by G.W. Bush) and will be damned if I let any other legislation through that views humans as a virus in the environment.

Some great trails were closed near Big Rapids when I lived there under that rule. They had great big signs that said they were closed for the "roadless" crap.

As far as I know, they remain closed to this day.

I really hope she does not get re-elected. Although the Amway guy really looks like a tool in his commercials I will still vote for him because I hate her so damn much.

i would never vote for here just because of what she is doing to the schools. i think you would have a hard time getting teachers in michigan to ever vote for here.

Any govenor that continues to pander to the old political establishment of Michigan will not be able to bail out the state. Education was cut instead of entitlements? Poor choice of priorities. Can we also send Debbie "Stab-us-all" packin too? She can't manage a sock drawer but was advanced to a high level U.S. Senate seat on zero track record or talent.

While we are housecleaning, High ranking Dinosaurs like Carl Levin (re-elected for 25 years) and John Conyers (re-elected for *gulp* 40 years?) must also assume their responsibilty for Michigan's economic decline. They both have the seniority power but chose to support the old establishment. How much automotive manufacturing expansion has been built south of the Michigan border in 25 years? Almost all of it?? Honda alone employs 25,000 Americans. How many are in Michigan? 2? No we were too proud and encouraged the "domestic imports" to build elsewhere.

Whether you are pro domestic, pro import, it doesnt matter. Michigan can't afford to turn down manufacturing opportunities. Right now, only the automotive imports are building plants in the US. We recently let Indiana beat us for a massive Honda plant investment? Toyota too! GIVE ME A BREAK!

That was said in that forest is good and urban expansion is not good.

OMG...you have no clue. The teacher's union backs whatever democrat is running....it's like they are blind. We (teacher) know what she has done, but many (not me) will still vote for her.

Now as for voting just based on one issue like the schools...well I guess it depends on where you are in your life and how it effects you. I am a teacher so it really effects me. I have a son getting ready to start school. The budget for my automotive program is 1/5 what it was 6 years ago. I have twice as many students and the cost of running the program is not going down. I just can't buy things I really need.

But after you put all the stuff together, everything adds up to not vote for her in my case.

Back to schools...tell me why a high school kid needs more foreign language credits than they do english credits? That's a new Grandholm thing. Hopefully that will go away when she gets the boot.
